Sounds neat, I'll download it now

EDIT:

Invert.exe has crashed

EDIT2: nvm, I redownloaded it, now it works. I thought of World of Goo even before I heard the music :)

EDIT3: I love it :)

It's pretty damn cool.

Is there a way to record your progress?

unfortunately, no. The competition also requires that you have no external files, that includes save files :(

Awww...

Oh! Also - I'm mapping out the controls to a gamepad to try it out, but I need to know: Are the arrow keys, Control and Shift the only buttons used?

(And is there a panic button to get out of a level without completion?)

Yes, there are no other buttons for movement.

And no there is no panic button :(
there's escape which resets the level, though!

Maybe you could use a password system for saving

Easy to break through, yes, but it's better than nothing

Hey, this could work

Everytime you clear one stage, display a small password in one of the corners of the screen so you can easily write it down

It's not actually linking to an external file, and it lets you make the game longer

that automatic marathon level is terrible

you need to give more time

edit: I was able to beat it after I got the timing down and jumped halfway first
the game is pretty fun though, but I had to stick myself into walls and exploit the push out to beat several of the puzzles

aye, that's why that level is called Automatic Marathon (you have to time it).
Never have had to resort to exploits myself (I have yet to see a place where it could be any useful and doesn't kill you)

Additionally I also updated the file, it now includes a test feature in the level editor.

It wasn't resorting to them, it just happened to be that it was the way I ended up solving the puzzle

the ying-yang one, you can invert twice in the center and get pushed down to the second key
and the last one, you can stick yourself inside the black stairs to prevent yourself from falling to your death

oh, I see what you mean. Unfortunately there's no way to fix that without adding more events, and I already used all I have to spare :V

This is neat, but it'd be nice to have some way to tell when a block will stay after inverting. Maybe make blocks that appear both black and white checkered or something?

Also some sort of visible timer for "automatic" levels would be nice.

it's a little difficult at first, but then you get to know when they'll switch on and off

otherwise, this game will be way too easy

Pretty good, it was a load of fun, and a pretty nifty concept, too. Good luck!

That was really fun, actually.

I'm trying to enter said competition myself, but I've been pondering a huge question and never had the time to bring it up to anyone on the Daily Click, so...

Can you use MMF 1.5? I'd really like to know, even though it states you can only use MMF2/TGF2/MMF2D, maybe they didn't mention this beaut because it's outdated.

Again, just wondering.

Ignore this, I'm pretty sure you can use it.

I SHALL BEGIN MY WORK.
