It should not even be necessary to say it, so it is useless and whinger in Mario, well, let us make just like that.
It was a quiet day in the kingdom Mushroom, Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Wario, Waluigi, Donkey Kong and Yoshi was picnicing quietly, when a fortress of Bowser glanced through them. Mario distrusting everything with this vile bumpkin, he(it) hurried to follow the flying fortress to see what contrived Bowser. And finally, he(it) returned simply in his(its) castle. Mario returned then to his place of picnic to find his(her) friends, but... All our accomplices were not any more there! Why? Would Bowser be behind all this? (Well you know as well that I that it is Bowser which(who) removed(kidnapped) them) Mario threaded then his gloves, his shoes, his cap, strike ] his mustache [/strike] and hurried up to go to make a small tour(ballot) at Bowser!

All the interest of the game(set,play) rests(bases) almost in this part(party), namely the [ b ] gameplay [/b].
The idea of departure, and even the final idea, is to make one engine clones of Great Mario Bros. 3 , but by bringing it heaps of novelties. I listen by novelties of the elements of game(set,play) which are not present in the quoted opus, but which very well already existed in the others Mario. (Especially 3D opuses) And therefore, this day here is a detailed list of what contains the gameplay (what is thus quoted and made, scheduled, and functional):

13 transformations :

Image-Little Mario : The classical Mario.

Image-Big Mario : He can take one damage and survive.

Image-Fire Mario : He can throw fireballs to kill ennemies.

Image-Ice Mario : He can throw iceballs to freeze ennemies.

Image-Hammer Mario : He can throw hammers to kill ennemies.

Image-Shell Mario : He can’t swim. He can roll in his sheel to surf and kick ennemies.

Image-Penguin Mario : Same as Ice Mario and Shell Mario but he can swim better than any other transformation.

Image-Boo Mario : He can fly and pass through walls. He returns to normal in light.

Image-Spring Mario : He can do very big jumps. He returns normal in water.

Image-Tanooki Mario : He can fly. He can lend a tail-flick. He can transform himself into a statue to protect himself.

(pas de sprite pour l'instant)-Cloud Mario : He can create 4 clouds to use them as platforms. He returns to normal in water.

Image-Bee Mario : He can fly. He returns to normal in water.

Image-RacoonFire Mario : The same as Fire Mario and Tanooki Mario without tail-flick.

-Star Mario: He is invincible.

Mario's various movements are :

-Walk
-Run
-Jump
-Climb
-Swim
-Walljump
-Pipe
-Crouch Down
-Take an object


Other transformations(processings) and movements will be afterward added. (In particular fusions of object, for example, to combine Tanooki with a Fleur de Feu to be transformed into RacoonFire Mario.

The engine looks like it has a ton of stuff, so good luck making a game with this.
Only downside to it is that it's pretty much Hello's Engine but made in MMF2, and thus the concept has been done before and seen before so many times it's hard to get very excited about it :(

Also, don't call it "Super Mario Bros. 4", there are 1000 fan-games with that name, and if you want your game to stand out, call it something unique.

i got excited because it was Clickteam

and then i read this

i'm already sick of seeing the Hello Engine being used uncreatively every where when it comes to Game Maker games, and while i'd like to see an increase of Clickteam games, i don't want to see it happening via the same idea, where every one just uses it as a level editor

I don't want to make an other clone of Mario game with hello engine. The first idea was to make a powerfull engine (here, like an Hello yes) wihch allow us to exploit it and make a funny game, like New Super Mario Bros. Wii which was I think the funniest mario platform ever.

Anyway, we'll prove to you that this game will be greater and funnier than an Hello game. ;)

My only real suggestion would be to finish the engine and then get all new custom sprites
If only so it doesn't blend in with the other billion smb3 clones

I'll think about new sprites serouisly, but I don't promise anything. :p Because first of all, there is a lot of transformations (and we're gonna add others one), and I know if I can find custom sprites of quality for all transformations.

Oh, and here is a new link (But the engine has a lot improved now! Less bugs, news ennemies, gameplay, etc.)

downloaded it - not bad at all


2 points off the top of my head right now:


- the only visual notice of sprinting is the power bar at the bottom - but while i was building up that speed, Mario doesn't build up speed himself, leaving me to think for a few times that maybe the sprinting didn't work
- wall jumping seems to happen even when you're up against a wall and jumping - this is problematic when a lot of players tend to jump after they hit the wall to jump up to the next platform; instead they find themselves suddenly being hurled backwards by the wall jump

I'm only being honset.

-I loved the screenshots, and was like wow this looks incredible.

then

-I tried it, honestly the engine was totally awful everything felt wrong, and there was alot of tiny little things that repeatedly came up that didn't fit in like the press any key graphic and the intro was long and bad looking.
-I hated the world map, the footsteps ( we all know what that's from ) sounded really weird, and it just felt wrong in alot of ways.
-So many things are wrong that could be easily fixed that's the important thing.


Also WTF is with everyone calling this a hello engine clone, this isn't even game maker and felt nothing even close to hello engine minus the graphics lol, i really must be missing something cause i haven't being here long but still im sure someone will fill me in.

edit: being up for like 2 days, my post was really jumbled and makes no sense especially with the '-'s, fixing sleep sched
