Asking because when people were talking about the MFGG Dating Sim (which is being made by Yoshin) i asked "Wait, are most of the members male?" or something like that.
Also say describe it like "approximately 50% members are male 50% members are female" or something like that.

but also there are very few women on mfgg and i wouldn't doubt that some still won't reveal it due to the harassment they'd receive

@Ostrich101 Don't worry. Many years ago (mostly before I was active on the forums), there were some times when people got a little too flirtatious with girls, especially those who had just joined. Most of it was innocuous, but there were definitely some comments in certain topics that crossed the line. In the post-Split era, I've never received a report of anyone being sexually harassed, but if anyone is saying things that make you uncomfortable, be sure to speak up - contact an admin or hit the report button.
@Ostrich101 It's been a while since I've seen the old "girls don't use the Internet" meme that Ugandan Knuckles referenced. Some social networks are actually majority female (like Facebook and Pinterest), although communities related to gaming, especially game development, tend to be predominantly male. In the past few years, there's been more of a push to encourage girls to consider fields that require a knowledge of computer programming, so this might change in the future. After all, game development is one of the best and most accessible ways to get started with programming.

Vitiman is a girl. I think DJ Coco is a girl too but she's been referred as "she" and "he" lots of times so it confuses me. I think BlasterMaster is a girl too but that's just because of her avatar idk.
Other than that, I don't know. Lots of MFGGers are male and many don't even specify their gender so there's that. So yeah, I'd say 1-5% of MFGG is female.

Of the MFGGers who list gender in their profiles, 109 are male, 13 are female, and 2 are other.

I know there's a good plenty of trans people on this site. Myself included. Most people won't specify their gender nowadays. There's lots of non conforming people out there.

The best practice if you don't know someone's gender is not to try guessing, but to refer to them by name or they, them, their.

Actually I thought she was a girl before that (and her name says "gothgirlgang").
It's also that I just don't usually call people "it" instead of "he" or "she". I'm not used to that so I kind of guess the genders because of that. Sorry.

Maybe the curriculum has changed since I've been in school but pronouns like they were taught to me in grade school.
I'm not saying I don't believe you didn't know, I'm just concerned if you really didn't know.
