I think the best course of action (in my opinion) would make the greater master/hub site "Fan Game Galaxy" and incorporate the other domain idea as best as we can within reason. Re-re-re-reviving/partnering with ZFGN to have them be a sub-site is a fantastic idea, as is reviving Metroid Fan Mission.

From there, you just need cute/fitting names for the rest of them, like F-Zero Fan Prix (too strange sounding?), Kirby Fan Game Fun Pak (okay I fully admit this one sucks, I just want to poke fun at the remarkably weird European name for Super Star), etc. etc. But yeah, you get the idea, I guess.

there are a couple forgotten dead ones, like Kirby's Fan Gaming Palace and Mega Man Fangaming Network

I got a small idea for a name

GameTendo Entertainment Siteâ„¢

As for other ips...All I can currently think about are Pac-Man, Sonic, and Maybe Klonoa.

What about Kirby's Rainbow Resort? Wasn't that some kind of sprite-based site, or was it something entirely different?

Don't forget Metroid Fan Mission.

The N-Verse (N is short for Nintendo but just say "N"). -verse is a suffix. The name suggestions for an MFGG successor site is something you can use as its encompassing the fictional worlds of the various series nintendo creates, tho you arent saying Nintendo in the name which can be used to avoid legal issues.

I do not think we should be a general fangaming site at all but as far as im concerned, we should be a Nintendo fangaming site bc the demographic of people who come here experience Nintendo's products, at least with Mario.

Has there been any progress on the expansion lately? At one point it sounded like MFGG would be rebranded (new name, new skin, etc.) and in another there was going to be multiple sites, one for each franchise. I have no idea what the current plan is, so if anyone does, please let me know. Is this all being saved for lumaSMS? I remember talking about this to someone and he suggested that one separate site should be made for all the non-Mario content. I think it's not a bad idea, especially since we aren't getting a whole lot of non-Mario content.

There was some Metroid content re-uploaded from Metroid: Fan Mission, but not all of it was transferred. Is this because of ownership issues or were you unable to get the rest of the content? The Wayback Machine seems to have archived a lot of the games and other content.

https://web.archive.org/web/*/http://metroidr.brpxqzme.net/*

It is rather disorganized, although sorting it by "MIME TYPE" helps a little, but someone who is patient enough might be able to get everything from the site via that list. I have heard that you can download the whole site from the Wayback Machine, though, so that might be a better option. You can also just browse the site with the Wayback Machine, although there are some obstacles you have to go over.

I can't access any page from the main one, but I can from any other. If you go here (games page), for example, you can now look into the Submission Rules, Sprites, How-Tos, etc. When I click on a submission, I get an error page, but I found an easy way to fix it.

Code:
http://metroidr.brpxqzme.net/index.php?sess=9ba7a6125483bd2804431c5f3f8e0f56&act=resdb%C2%B6m=02&c=2&id=951

Code:
http://metroidr.brpxqzme.net/index.php?act=resdb&param=02&c=2&id=951

All I did in this example was remove "sess=<ABSURDLY LONG STRING OF GIBBERISH>&" and replace the gibberish between "resdb" and "=02&c..." with "&param". Here's a link to the fixed URL. When I click on a review, I sometimes get what I want, but not all the time. I sometimes get an error page and the trick doesn't seem to work. The site seems really finicky on what pops up and what doesn't, although it's possible that some content may have unfortunately never been archived.

I'm a bit confused about what is allowed on MFGG. The expansion started out with the limits set on Nintendo content, and then it was quietly expanded to non-Nintendo video game content like Mega Man and Sonic. Now we have some sprites about non-video game characters, like Fred Flintstone and the Runmo guy (who was from some YouTube video if I remember correctly). Was there any talk about this? I think expanding to the rest of Nintendo is a good idea, but I don't know about beyond that.

There's a really great article for getting content off of the wayback machine, https://wiki.archiveteam.org/index.php?title=Restoring

I have personally used the Wayback Machine Downloader they mention on their site and it is phenomenal- you can get everything out of it you'd ever want. Piecing it back together into some functional site isn't an easy task though, but luckily that's not the goal here.

To stay more relevant, I feel like we need to broaden our appeal. Allow Super Mario Maker 2 level submissions, indie game submissions, etc.

RE: MFGG Expansion Discussion and Brainstorming - Randomanian Creatomertist - 02-12-2021

I see the EvilYoshiToes' Post about the new name site's part. I don't know if I'm too late or not, but from the post I see some nice and awesome names for sites.

But, be honest with me, there's two words there connects so very much, and that why site like this (MFGG), SFGHQ, ZFGC, MHQ and many others sites, are and will still here in the times: and are "Franchises" and "Fandoms".

And I heard that you're would expand the site the other fangames than Mario's franchise.
So, about this name as proposition of mine: "FandoGameVerse"
