From what I've heard the "creator of this fan game", put some DRM just to protect his/her sprites from being ripped/stolen! Now putting some ransomware for this reason is just... Disagree



We'll have to call it: Sonic Gather Info, OR even Sonic. exe 2. How about that instead?

But we shouldn't worry about this anymore, though.
