RE: Minigame Competition #7: Cooking Up Some Trouble - VinnyVideo - 02-07-2018 @nowe reginald Also, Minigame Competition entries have to made specifically for that competition. It's OK to reuse, say, a textbox script in different games, but you can't take an old game and submit to a Minigame Competition. RE: Minigame Competition #7: Cooking Up Some Trouble - Mariotroid - 02-08-2018 https://www.sendspace.com/file/brlr1c Here's my entry. Time to sleep, gym tomorrow!!! RE: Minigame Competition #7: Cooking Up Some Trouble - Syaxamaphone - 02-09-2018 ![]() I got to just under 300 before calling it quits. Its not a bad concept but imo the biggest improvement that could be made to gameplay is to have it increase in difficulty somehow as you clear boards. Maybe having the belt move faster or adding more rows and columns to the board. Either way its neat. Nice to see someone submit a puzzle game. My biggest complaint is that the cookies do not snap to the board very well and grabbing them while they were falling was kind of a pain. RE: Minigame Competition #7: Cooking Up Some Trouble - Mariotroid - 02-09-2018 @Syaxamaphone. Thanks. I'm going to add more to it later on. I was thinking of adding poop as one of the things sliding on the conveyor belt. You have to avoid the poop or you lose some time. RE: Minigame Competition #7: Cooking Up Some Trouble - Syaxamaphone - 02-09-2018 Poop is kind of crude. Might I suggest a mario enemy like fuzzy or a koopa shell? Also if you're looking to build more consistent graphics, you could try taking food items and stuff from Paper Mario. That way you could have more than four cookies for harder stages. RE: Minigame Competition #7: Cooking Up Some Trouble - Cruise Elroy - 02-09-2018 Alright, so I'm getting close to finishing, but I know for sure that I won't be able to make it by the deadline tomorrow. Could we get a week-long extension? RE: Minigame Competition #7: Cooking Up Some Trouble - Syaxamaphone - 02-10-2018 I'm just about done but I could work wonders with an extension too so I'd be down. RE: Minigame Competition #7: Cooking Up Some Trouble - Mariotroid - 02-10-2018 An extension for me isn't necessary but I would appreciate an extension as well. RE: Minigame Competition #7: Cooking Up Some Trouble - Copperama - 02-11-2018 Hello! I've been so busy that I haven't check up recently! I also have got very little progress done. So an extension is in order, a week sounds good? We'll hold back for the 17th. Good Luck! RE: Minigame Competition #7: Cooking Up Some Trouble - Mariotroid - 02-16-2018 I had problems with your game, Cuise. I can't play with my computer cause the game's resolution was too high. RE: Minigame Competition #7: Cooking Up Some Trouble - Cruise Elroy - 02-16-2018 @Mariotroid Quote:I just uploaded a fixed version, but the options are carried over from the old version to the new one, so you'll still get the large screen. To fix this, navigate to %localappdata% and delete the folder named "toadettearcade" before running the game.Alternatively, you can change the options directly by accessing "options.ini" from said folder. RE: Minigame Competition #7: Cooking Up Some Trouble - Mariotroid - 02-17-2018 @Cruise Okay Ill try to do that soon. Update of my game. @Syaxamaphone, its more challenging as the game progrsses Why can't I tag you, @Cruise Elroy RE: Minigame Competition #7: Cooking Up Some Trouble - OssieTheOstrich - 02-17-2018 (02-17-2018, 03:58 AM)Mariotroid Wrote: @Cruise Okay Ill try to do that soon.Lol the fat shy guy from Paper Mario is the bad item. Take the role as a waitress fulfilling guest orders. memorize their order, send it to the kitchen and bring it to guests quickly for maximum tip bonus! Controls: Arrows - Move A - Interact S - Cancel out of menus Q - Pause F9 - Screenshot (controls can be customized in-game) It's a bit complex so here's a quick rundown of what you should be doing: -When a guest is flashing, they are ready to be served! -Press A to greet and get their order, the food they want will appear over their heads. -Use a computer to punch in the order for the kitchen to make. -Grab completed food from the counter and bring it to the customers. -Guests will often ask for water (or you can deliver it anyway for tip bonus). -Clear a table after a guest is done with A. The game is over if you make too many mistakes or if you waste more food than money you made in a day. Some Tips: -Food will eventually expire and be removed if it sits on the counter too long. Food that is steaming is FRESH -Fresh food and quick food will net you tip bonus -Delivering water early (before they wish to order) is a great way to get extra tip. -If your hands are full you can put food in the trash or back on the counter. -Food does not expire in your hands. -Some food takes longer to prepare than others. Keep and eye on the kitchen queue to get an idea of how different dishes work!
