Is the cancellation a joke or was this whole game an elaborate joke leading up to April 1st, when you'd reveal that it was a joke all along and we will never have a Luigi's Mansion 2D?

Oof. There's a lot of influences in the Luigi's Mansion soundtrack, but it has never had loud bombastic tracks with filtered square leads or loud TR-909 percussion. Instrumentally the music is pretty unfitting in my opinion. Also I don't think a remix-medley of two Paper Mario boss themes is particularly fitting for a Luigi's Mansion game...

Looking back I wish I could have saw it through to completion, but seeing how I was basically starting a new game every other week at the time and zdude wasn't very experienced, there was essentially no way it was going to be completed.
I'm the one who built the engine and did most of the graphics so if you were wondering, yes you have my permission to use it, but I can't really help you as I'm trying finish a personal project I've been working on for too long now. Again though, good luck, it's nice to see it's at least not dead yet.

I really enjoyed the demo! There is a typo though. Instead of saying "inventions" the scientist says "intentions."

This is quite a promising demo. I'm definitely looking forward to playing the full version.
As Evil Yoshi Toes mentioned, there are a few typos in E. Gadd's speech. I'd recommend getting someone to proofread your writing before you release the final version.
Also, this is one of those games that would benefit from an in-game tutorial system. There's one room early on where you face a ghost that can only be defeated using elemental attacks. The game never explains how you're supposed to beat this ghost. I ended up getting a Game Over or two before I figured out how to beat him.
Otherwise, the game's difficulty is pretty fair (aside from the lack of a save system, but we discussed that earlier).

hihi im zdude just wanna chime in and say good luck, luigi's mansion fangames have a track record of going off in a puff of smoke but you dont need to credit me on it, I've long left the fangame works.
looking back i didnt do anything really note worthy back then i just worked on something with no solid experience lol. Hope it gets finished sometime in the future.

I have a question for you guys, Im trying to run Luigis mansion 2D V1.5 on my PC and its giving me the error:
ERROR in

of Create Event
for object obj_game:
Error defining an external function."
does anyone know any fixes for this?

Try downloading the game again or restart your computer
