RE: Users that you miss - Ashurasonic - 07-10-2019

Where to start...

Parakarry. Had fun talking with him (I remember his buildup to his Arceus encounter!) After AIM's sudden passing, I lost all communication with him.
RageM. Still talk to him elsewhere with time to time.
Eno the Red Guy. He loved to share his story ideas on AIM.
SuperMetalMario. Honest and bright guy. I wonder knew what he is up to nowadays.
MedriFogmatio. Great artist. I remember his obsession with Metroid and Transformers.
Medaforcer. His mushroom mercenary character was rad. He was (is?) also really good at Pokemon.
Mrs. Aforcer. Thankfully she's still active on Facebook!
Duckboy. Great artist. But he sadly made a fool of himself and got banhammer'd.
Hatman. Same fate as Duckboy.
MSonic. Easygoing person.
SonicProject. Also chill person.
Tri. Also also chill person.
Shadowman. Talked about the deep lore of Spy Kids 3D with him once. Also the name "Shadowman" was and still is rad.

Welcome back team

RE: Users that you miss - WasabiCatto - 07-10-2019

Gotta point that most of us moved from Skype to Discord, you'll likely find us in there Wink

Though I haven't had much to say in some months. Honestly my situation is just social stagnation and wishing to do more.
I'm always on Skype. I haven't posted in MFGG in some time, but I do hang around the MLPForums site, what with being a big fan of MLPFIM. I would love to post more often here but I don't know what I would say.
I hear there's a thing in the works to evolve MFGG into somewhat of a "NFGG" with more game series being included.... that'd be cool.

But yeah for years I've watched the active friends count on my AIM get gradually smaller... people just disappear. Then AIM just disappeared. I only talk with like 2 people max online anymore now. And not by choice... and I don't like it.
I'm ready to change that.

Hey Parakarry! Glad to see you back! Same here, except replace months with years. Yeah, more franchises besides Mario are being allowed on the Main Site now, such as Pokemon, Zelda, Megaman, Kirby, Metroid, etc.

Do you still have Pokemon Diamond? We should exchange FCs and trade/battle sometime! I know the Nintendo Wi-FI Connection servers closed back on May 20th, 2014, but thankfully the ingenious work of the Homebrew community allows us to play DS and Wii games online again with custom servers. It's really easy too!

Hi Ashura! Long time no see! Your art is incredible and I remember you always drawing my refs back in the day. Do you still play Pokemon? Specifically Gen 4.

A lot of the MFGGers you miss are here!

@Parakarry
@Rage
@Medaforcer
@Pedigree (SonicProject)
@ShadowMan

I'm trying to contact Tri, Hatman, Eno, Duckboy, and others.

Saturn was here

I figured by the name and color palette on the avatar, reminded me of your sprites and tilesets back then but it's been so long I thought I'd rather not assume.
Great to see you around!

Anyway who were your favorite starters in the recent games?
In XY I was a big Fennekin guy, but I love Chespin equally as much.
In Sun and Moon I was full Popplio, the adorable seal dude. And that was before I met Primarina!♥
When Sword and Shield come out, I'm going full Scorbun.

Fennekin is always my starter in X and Y. It's my favorite design-wise and I feel Chespin fits Shauna better while Froakie fits Calem better. I picked Popplio in Sun, Moon, Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon due to it being favorite also, but I'm going to replay all of the games picking Rowlett. I'll probably pick Grookey in Sword and Shield.

RE: Users that you miss - VinnyVideo - 07-10-2019

Oh man, I'm drowning in MFGG nostalgia here.

@EDGE This goes for anyone having account/password issues, but if you're having trouble getting into your account, contact an admin and we'll be able to help you resolve whatever problem you're having!

@Parakarry I don't use Skype much anymore (and I'm inconsistent about using Discord), but if you'd like to chat sometime, feel free to hit me up!

@Medaforcer Yeah, I lost contact with a bunch of MFGG old-timers when AIM died out. I never actually downloaded AIM, but I used my Google account on Pidgin (anyone remember that?) to talk to anyone who had AIM. Most of the people I talk to regularly moved on to Skype and later Discord, but I lost touch with a few older MFGGers when AIM stopped working.

RE: Users that you miss - Neo Hyper Yoshi - 07-10-2019

I'm just going to leave this here; It's from just under 2 weeks ago. Oldbies who knew me from back in the day will understand the significance of this;

[Image: XA2ipra.jpg]

I got Mario Kart 8 Psychically and downloaded Super Mario Maker 2 when I got home.

You can pretty easily predict what I like based on whether or not it's a reptile/amphibian. Sun and Moon was a bit meh for me because of that, but Rowlet is my go to there and for the next one I'm really digging Sobble. I hope evolution is kind to it lol...

I feel likpe I should get discord. There isn't a specifc reason why I haven't used it, but I know it's what all the peeps use.

I don't play much of competitive Pokemon nowadays. I stopped playing the Gen 4 games around 2010. Dunno why.. I just moved on I guess. Most of the mons I bred and raised are still stuck in my copy of SoulSilver. And the rest are trapped in my copy of X (rip pink espurr). The fact that flygon can finally use dragon dance in S/M is tempting me to return to the grind, though.

Yeah, I kinda stopped playing super competitively when Black & White came out. After 2010, the series kind of lost of it's magic for me. I still play the new games and even build competitive sets, but that's it. :L

I'd like to get back into the series competitively again, replaying every meta from Gen 1 to Gen 7 in order.

RE: Users that you miss - StrawberryGremlin - 07-12-2019

Yo everyone~ I also got an email asking for old members to rejoin and I was like "sure what the heck!"

I went by KentuckyFriedPanda/MerryMarmalade back in the day. I dunno if anyone remembers me (hopefully no one remembers anything annoying I probably did as a dumbass teen...) but I'm recognizing some of you! :> nice to see you~

RE: Users that you miss - Vitiman - 07-12-2019

@StrawberryGremlin I kinda remember you! You joined around the same time I joined the forums, I think. Were you really from Kentucky? Or was it all just a pun based on a particular fast food chain?

Welcome back, KFP! I remember you! You made a lot of awesome art and are a pretty cool member.

RE: Users that you miss - Fourside Seven - 07-13-2019

Okay so I guess I'm here too now.

I used to go by Kitsune Yamato or Nick/Nicholas Ainsworth here. I don't go by either of those anymore. Just Fourside or my real name, Ike, is fine.

I remember a lot of you and I owe many of you an apology because I was either openly a heel to you or I passively watched while others did it while I was an administrator here and for that, I'm sorry. I wish I would have been better to you all, especially when certain individuals went out of their way to turn MFGG into a swamp.

I also suffered a lot of abuse, which is why I left previously. GeneralGuy knows the story. I suffered a lot of blatant racism at the hands of several members and it made it extremely uncomfortable for me to be here and with several other members laughing with them, I just assumed I didn't belong and took my leave. Having your reputation and personal projects repeatedly trashed for no reason other than sheer hate will do that to you.

Since I was last on MFGG, I've moved away from Georgia to Pennsylvania. I currently live just outside of Pittsburgh in an apartment with just me and my dog. He's an okay roommate when he's not trying to eat my bacon. I've been working extensively on my art and comic work, which a handful of you may have seen when we crossed paths in the last decade or so. I've gotten a lot better since the days of “RyuFox Legends,” which now goes by another title that doesn't sound completely like a 13-year-old came up with it in 10 seconds.

I've also suffered a death in the family as well. My dad passed away back in 2017 and I'm still occasionally dealing with the grief from that. I've also been placed on medication for severe anxiety and suicidal ideation. I like to think it's working. I haven't seriously thought of yeeting myself off a building in months.

I guess that about covers it. I don't know how often I'll be posting since I work like 9 hours a day now with a 90-minute commute on each end of that but I'll at least try to drop some things in the arts board.

Hey Ike! I personally think Kitsune Yamato and Nicholas Ainsworth are cool names, especially the former. But Fourside Seven is even better!

No problem! You're fine. There were a lot of questionable mods and admins in power during that period of time (late 2009 - 2011), and in that regard, you were one of the better ones.

Yeah, that's awful. Any form of racism, sexism, homophobia and any other biggotry isn't tolerated here.

I live in Ohio, but Pennsylvania is also pretty cool. Cool Lake Erie is above both states, and then Canada is on the other side! Dogs do make the best friends. I feed my dog table scraps sometimes, but I make it a rule to keep his consumption of pork to a minimum. You'll have to show my your art and comic work sometime, as I'm very eager to see it. Also, your new username and commentary on your previous ones made me realize that I need to find a new one as well. GeneralGuy is incredibly generic.

I'm sorry to hear about your father. May he rest in peace. I've had quite a few family members pass away in the last 11 years, and it's definitely sad. In regards to your own health, that's great to hear you're getting better.

Great introduction Ike, and I'm so glad you could join! Yeah, nearly everyone here are adults now with full-time jobs which leaves us with less time to browse compared to 13 years ago. I look forward to seeing your artwork!
