I'm also incredibly late to the party, but hey. Congratulations MFGG, you're a piece of Internet history! May you live forever! I know I'll be checking this forum once every few months until the day I die.

I was only 13 or 14 when I first joined MFGG, only 16 when the Split happened, and yet for such little time my teenage years were defined by this place. No other Internet community gave me as much joy, during the doldrums of high school life. I still talk to people who I met here every single day, and I've even met MFGGers in real life. I've hung out with Glukom probably a dozen times over the past six years, and I even became close friends with some of his irl friends (one of whom I saw just last night). And I still remember cavorting around Manhattan with Shroomguy in the winter of 2017, when I first moved to NYC. I'm sure there will be many more of these fateful meetings to come!

Me and some younger MFGGers (Dex, Glukom, Zero Kirby, RetroX, a few others) tried to start our own secret society after the Split as well, and that lasted for about a year and a half before morphing into what's today a very active Discord server -- the same path which MFGG itself ended up taking, it seems. I think we found RII's secret society at some point, although I don't remember how and we couldn't see any of the posts; we joked that we had competition. There must have been so many of these splinter communities, behind the scenes. Other than these two I only know of MFGGU and Crab Radish -- although I think the latter just devolved into furry RP for years on end, or something like that.

Hey, here's my super late happy anniversary for this wonderful site! I have a little history with it, and I couldn't possibly be what I am today without the couple of sprite sheets I've uploaded on the main site!

I'm talking about the MFGG 20th Anniversary badges. It's been over a month now and they still haven't been handed out yet.

Since this year is MFGG's 20th Anniversary and great members who aren't normally active on here like MDragmire, MegaTailzChao and others bothered to log in (albeit slightly late) to wish a happy birthday, I think we should extend the badge eligibility period to everyone who posts in this thread instead of 1 day. Even Black Squirrel, who has contributed so much to MFGG over the years, managed to miraculously come back and give his thoughts. I think it's only fair to the members and the legacy of MFGG.

This long.
I'm really realizing how rare it is for a site like this to last this long. Lots of similar sorts of sites and group boards in the early 2000s internet probably came and went. MFGG is something else, and something enduring. We've had our share of website problems, moves, more moves, and upheaval. There was even a time I was hell bent on trying to find missing files and web hosting services, I was that invested in the place.
And even though the board has slowed to a comparitive crawl, the Discord is relatively bustling. And a few people I know of here have actually put out legit games! Like Paperball!
I'm glad to have stumbled onto this site in high school. I don't remember exactly what I was searching for, but it was Koopalings related. Then I found this place, checked it out, saw a previous version of the board, but never joined until 2003.
The site is really the ultimate fangame database, for both the good and bizarre.
As for me, although there isn't a lot for me to say, I pop up occassionally. Think of it like Proto Man, who just shows up sometimes. Whistle not included.
