RE: Users that you miss - Fujiko - 07-16-2019

Thank you for the warm welcome, everyone!

I'm glad you liked my Mafia games. Speaking of, anyone seen Shroomguy (I think was his name), the guy who spun off a Kira Game forum off of Minus World IIRC?

I recently got the opportunity to host a Mafia variant IRL. It's the most fun ever, hahaha

Peardian has a Twitter and a Tumblr (don't know if he left tumblr when everyone else did). I haven't talked to him in a long, long time though... Sad he doesn't reply to or follow others so I didn't want to intrude upon that.

I mean, I've seen you on Twitter myself a few times, but I've always been afraid to reach out/follow you because I figured maybe us talking and stuff was something that was supposed to stay in the past.

MFGG was huuuuge back then to be fair. Like I recognize some names, legit remember some people, and then vaguely a username will only just trigger a memory of an avatar, a sprite, or like one topic made at some point lol
This.
I had a hard time keeping up with members' names at some point when there were a lot of new members joining for the PPP section and all those young ones who were making Hello's Mario Engine clones left and right.

Flygon, I effing adore him,. But he's really gotten the shaft in later Pokemon games, and a lot of it is related to a Pokemon I'm not a fan of...

In DP, they introduced Garchomp, whose typing made Flygon no longer unique, but additionally has entirely better stats than Flygon, and is used so often and I could never beat.
It got to the point that I raised a Weavile.

In XY, Garchomp got a Mega, but guess who didn't! Another certain Dragon/Ground dude.

And what's more, Gible is confirmed to be in Sword and Shield, which means Garchomp is in too, and if they're trimming Pokemon, with the way Flygon keeps getting the shaft, he might be out of the game too...

I have a real grudge against Garchomp for all these reasons.
Most likely irrational.

Lol I love Garchomp.

I believe there was an interview that said they were designing a flygon mega, but scrapped it because they couldn't get a good feel on it. We were so close, but I guess megas are donezo now.

I can almost swear there was a Mega Flygon. Maybe I'm a crazy person and just misremembering.

(Shroomguy is there too)

RE: Users that you miss - Applica - 07-17-2019

Figured this was the topic to just check in on. Recently did a nostalgic batch of google searches and saw that, hey, some people I recognize were out here posting. (Although I don't use my old email account anymore, I loaded it up and saw that I did, in fact recieve a letter from GeneralGuy, so hey, thanks for that.)

I was an old member, but I've kinda always thought of myself as an "everpresent background character" as I was never really part of any cliques nor did I ever contribute much to anything that wasn't frequent, silly PPP posts. Most people here won't recognize me by this name, unless they were part of the TF2 or KGF crews. I joined way back in 2003 under the name " Waddle dee" (extremely original btw) at the age of 12 with hopes of making my own games, but never really posted any games other than a few one-screen minigames in a couple posts in minigame comps or a couple posts in my first year.

Still, my time on the site was fun, although I'm sure I'd be embarrassed looking back on it now if I really went through it. I already know it wasn't flawless and if I did ever wrong anyone directly I'm deeply sorry about that. Still, I was a literal child for the majority of ny time there, as I'm sure many others were.

While being on the actual topic and instead of joking about electrical fires, I'll just say there's a number of people that I've always wondered what became of them, and while I won't be mentioning names I'm already glad to see one of them here, doing well and seeming like a pretty good person. Its relieving.

I've honestly changed a lot as a person since I joined all those years ago (Thank goodness!) And I'm glad I did spend the time there that I did. It was formative, an honestly huge part of my life for better or worse. There's a few old members I still speak with on occasion, and even one I feel I can call my best friend.

So, yeah, just figured I'd drop in for a moment to say hey while a few other old members were here. Just to say hey. Hey.

Oh, hey Waddle Dee! I thought you died in an electrical fire. I'm so glad to see you, and you're welcome! Don't worry about it. Most of us were like 15 or younger when we joined MFGG, and we all did silly things. I do remember you were pretty big into TF2. Yeah, it's so nice to see other MFGGers back and how they've been doing all these years. Yeah, MFGG will always hold a special place in my heart for being a pivotal and rapturous part of my childhood. [Image: nod.gif]

So when do us ghosts start explaining what we did in the 8-10 years that we disappeared?
How much detail do we go into?

RE: Users that you miss - Jazz - 07-18-2019

What's up?

RE: Users that you miss - Toni - 07-18-2019

I have been summoned.
Why GeneralGuy would choose me over a powerful blue genie or a wish-granting dragon, I don't know, but here I am.

It's quite amazing that this place still exists. Neat. Smile

RE: Users that you miss - Vitiman - 07-18-2019

TONI, mother f***ers you got Toni? Dude your sprites still hold up to this day, I'm only disappointed no one ever used them in a game properly, because I think they're some of the most fascinating customs anyone ever did.
