Hello there, I'm back to show you all that the game is actually more professional! That means that everything will fit into the style and essence we're trying to convey here. This means that I have to actually show you all some footage but I don't have much
Imgur is my friend here though, so I will scrape together what I can.
First of all, here's something I can't actually "showcase" but, I went through my crappy code and planned out what I needed to do: Rebuild it.
I am remaking the game from "Mario Worlds Engine 2" which is an underdeveloped engine meaning that there is alot of room to put together some new content while not having to rebuild it completely.
We set off to find some new ground but I had encountered a problem: Nobody understands what I mean by "Open World".
By open world I mean that this game is taking a Mario RPG like direction but in 2D. This means that there are no levels, just a world to explore with a story to follow. There will be collectables in the game of course, the 7 main ones and alot of side collectables.
After that, we took some REAL land and planted down a toad town. I'm sorry if it looks stretched, it won't in the game. This is just a picture I took from the editor

Big props to our amazing helper and spriter, JustJake/Mr.Magician/GhostlyJake. He helped alot with the game and we set off to find a base for our story.
