Sorry for your troubles! It's never fun to catch flack for trying to do the right thing.
MFGG is really the best place to be if you want to try making a Mario game. The contests are great way to improve all the relevant skills for making games. All of my best MFGG memories are competition-related.

Minus World split from MFGG so long ago, I find it funny that there's still beef. At least, that's the implication I got from reading your post. I figured by now it would have died down ... it was a major reason I decided to quit going to both sites because it was pretty toxic. Don't feel bad about your decisions, it sounds like you handled things the best you could have.

You'd think! Minus World has no issues with MFGG as a community or affiliate site, but I don't think that's returned likewise based on staff comments.
