How many of you even write in cursive? I was talking about this the other day but like why even teach us that bullCENSORED?

I write in cursive but it is a pointless skill in day to day scenarios. I guess the idea is that cursive is the proper way of writing but, since we are too uncoordinated to write in cursive when we first learn to write and therefore have to go through the process of learning cursive after learning an already perfectly legible way of writing, it seems to me that things would have been much easier if people had never written in cursive to begin with. Now we have immortalized official documents written in cursive, like the U.S.A.'s Declaration of Independence, so there will probably always be people writing in cursive. Then the main reason to know cursive would be to understand the writing of people who write in cursive.
It's also a little faster and can look really pretty if the writer is good at it.

The only point of cursive nowadays is for signatures.

I don't have much reason to use cursive - I can print more quickly and legibly. Cursive can be good for Cool Aesthetic Writing™, though.

I had a job where I had to sign a massive number of timecards every week, so my signature is getting closer to Overhurried Prescription levels.

Signatures are the only time I ever bother to use cursive too. Dunno why we even were required to learn about it in elementary school either -- it was effectively pointless.
