Add the ability to change polls after posting. - OssieTheOstrich - 09-18-2018 Let's say, you make a poll, and you realised that you made a typo/made a wrong poll title, you have no way of changing it back. And its annoying. RE: Add the ability to change polls after posting. - Hyper - 11-05-2018 It is best to consult with a forum moderator/admin about for such matters. However I'll bring this up to other staffs see if we can allow users to make changes to their polls. RE: Add the ability to change polls after posting. - Syaxamaphone - 11-06-2018 I'm surprised that this is not already a thing. Having to bug staff every time you want to change your own poll sounds like a big pain. Why would you even lock something like that? RE: Add the ability to change polls after posting. - Pedigree - 11-06-2018 I don't see any reason not to do this. However, if at all possible, remove the ability to edit the poll after a vote has been cast... so that nobody can edit the poll and change what people are voting for, abuse like that RE: Add the ability to change polls after posting. - Fun With Despair - 11-06-2018 I think this is a good idea, however I object to locking you out after a vote. Considering most people who make polls are genuinely looking for feedback, editing a poll to change results would be pointless and warnable if offensive anyway. If someone made a typo and were unable to fix it because someone voted, I imagine they wouldn't be too happy. RE: Add the ability to change polls after posting. - OssieTheOstrich - 02-02-2019 I'm still waiting for a consenses... ![]() RE: Add the ability to change polls after posting. - OssieTheOstrich - 08-07-2019 Not wanting to bump this, but has this been implemented yet? Cause people would really appreciate it being added.. If this can't be added to due technical restraints, then ![]() RE: Add the ability to change polls after posting. - GeneralGuy - 08-08-2019 This should be a thing. RE: Add the ability to change polls after posting. - Pedigree - 08-08-2019 No. I don't agree with this. People have used it in the past to trick people into voting for something offensive. And you're not exactly someone who I think is above doing that. Just double check and spell check your polls before you submit them. RE: Add the ability to change polls after posting. - Pedigree - 08-08-2019 No, it really can't. You can physically navigate to the member's posts and see the original quote there. You can't see what the original poll was before someone would have edited it. RE: Add the ability to change polls after posting. - HylianDev - 08-09-2019 you should definitely consider that people can be tricked this way but also most people won't do that, and even if they do it's not like a forum poll has ever counted for much. RE: Add the ability to change polls after posting. - Daisy - 08-10-2019 Why not just reset the votes every time a poll is changed then? I know it might seem annoying in theory given that it would require users to vote again on the poll they already voted on but it can solve the problem of users being tricked. I know it might seem annoying in theory given that it would require users to vote again on the poll they already voted on but it can solve the problem of users being tricked. There's also the option of limiting the modification of polls to anonymous votes only. So if a member's name is shown with their vote, you can't edit the poll. Also, an edited poll could allow members an opportunity to re-vote? RE: Add the ability to change polls after posting. - Yoshin - 08-11-2019 I VERY much say dont lock out editing Lots of times dev threads change out the poll entirely on the OP and locking out editing ruins this. |
