Add a ban reason on a user profile. - OssieTheOstrich - 10-07-2018 Mockup: RE: Add a ban reason on a user profile. - VinnyVideo - 10-07-2018 Vinny banned this person for not giving him Leberkäse. I have mixed feelings about this proposal. It increases transparency, which is a good thing. However, some banned users might not want ban reasons to be publicly visible - they might not want something like "Banned for flaming MarioFanLongStringOfNumbers by calling him an idiot" to be on their profiles. Similar to the date of birth. RE: Add a ban reason on a user profile. - Pedigree - 10-07-2018 Nah, ban reasons don't need to be public. It can and has caused drama. We used to post bans in a public log in the past and it did cause problems. It kind of defeats the purpose of your ban if you can still stir drama while you're banned with such a feature. Not to mention such a feature fuels the attention seeking troll with such a public log worn as a badge of honor. The last thing we need is to encourage a troll by giving him or her the attention they seek. There is also no need for anyone but you and moderators to know why you're banned. I suppose if someone was really curious, they could reach out to you outside MFGG. |
