Just think about it: The whole Cap Kingdom is Eeries and we become acquainted with their powers to possess almost anything... and what if Cappy was controlling Mario the whole time??? RE: Scariest Mario enemies - Retriever II - 11-01-2018 Piano is the only correct answer RE: Scariest Mario enemies - Evil Yoshi Toes - 11-01-2018 The piano definitely. The eels from Mario 64 terrified me as well. RE: Scariest Mario enemies - Mariotroid - 11-01-2018 (11-01-2018, 08:14 PM)Count Dogula Wrote: Scariest Mario enemy is the Eerie. It's just a theory... a GAME theory. I'd say Count Blek cause that guy has some serious relationship problems. RE: Scariest Mario enemies - Great Destination Tracks 3 - 11-02-2018 The Eel From Mario 64 RE: Scariest Mario enemies - littlelum - 11-03-2018 The only one that legitimately scared me was the piano RE: Scariest Mario enemies - Guinea - 11-04-2018 +1 to the piano. Nothing else scared me in a Mario game before or since. The sudden jump when it becomes alive, paired with the creepy eyeless teeth (this enemy is a Mario enemy and has no eyes; in context that's even creepier than the hills *having* eyes), and worst of all, the horrible piano noises grating on your ears until you leave the room or turn off your N64 or the TV. RE: Scariest Mario enemies - Fun With Despair - 11-04-2018 Everyone who says the Piano is the worst never played Luigi's Mansion when it came out, or if they have, they never fought Bogmire or got to the blackout. Bogmire in hindsight isn't that bad, but is extremely creepy as a kid because of the way he casts these super long, dark shadows everywhere and how completely abstract and different he is from most other Mario enemies, but the blackout... Oh boy the blackout. When you were playing this game on an old CRT, it got extremely dark, and the blackout single-handed undid everything you spent the game doing, while simultaneously cloaking the entire house in darkness, spawning ghosts EVERYWHERE. Every enemy in Luigi's Mansion became terrifying beyond what the Piano was the second those lights go out, because not only do they jumpscare you, they're everywhere. RE: Scariest Mario enemies - Friendly Dictator - 11-04-2018 goomba mushrooms dont have eyes in real life... freaky...... RE: Scariest Mario enemies - Yoshin - 11-04-2018 you guys are clearly forgetting someone RE: Scariest Mario enemies - Thunderbro - 11-05-2018 That did not make me want to p*** my pants as a child. That Piano on the otherhand did. After reading this, I am excited to play Luigis Mansion for 3ds. Just picked it up. Should be funnnnn!!! What about the big shadowy manta ray from Super Mario Sunshine? RE: Scariest Mario enemies - Retriever II - 11-09-2018 (11-04-2018, 02:59 PM)Fun With Despair Wrote: Everyone who says the Piano is the worst never played Luigi's Mansion when it came out, or if they have, they never fought Bogmire or got to the blackout. I thought Bogmire was more cool than scary. And while the blackout was a scary situation to be in, it was still all the same enemies which in and of themselves weren't particularly scary. The whole ordeal with more annoying than scary. The piano was scary because it was a jump scare paired with an unsettling anthropomorphism of an unlikely object. The banging keys just kicked it up another level. RE: Scariest Mario enemies - Great Destination Tracks 3 - 11-09-2018 The Fake Blocks Scared me Once RE: Scariest Mario enemies - fireball3k - 11-15-2018 (11-04-2018, 07:50 PM)Friendly Dictator Wrote: goomba excellent s*** post, my man in all seriousness, hot foot from mario bros. 3 is the only mario enemy to ever viscerally scare me. it's basically a walking flame, and fire which takes the shape of a human is something that terrifies me. for example, there is a boss in final fantasy 5 called liquid flame which is a magma puddle which shapeshifts, beginning as a human-shape, which legitimately gave me nightmares. RE: Scariest Mario enemies - Saltman - 11-16-2018 The scariest enemy: his actual face is so scary he uses a mask to hide it. |
