Your Thoughts on the Detective Pikachu Movie - Evil Yoshi Toes - 11-17-2018
I think it's disturbing. Jigglypuff in particular looks straight from hell. Still, I am very intrigued by it and Ryan Reynolds is great, although I do prefer when I can see him.
Most people I've talked to about it don't like the look of it, but the comments on the trailer seem pretty mixed. What do you think?

I have mixed feelings about the movie, I think the pokemon look pretty creepy (although it doesn't seem as bad in movement). However, the whole premise of the movie does intrigue me, this movie actually seems like it may turn out pretty good, that scene with Mr. Mime was pretty enjoyable.

The designs are trash but that's not even too important since the movie itself just looks so boring.

After re-watching the trailer without the shock of the creepy designs the movie looks much less interesting. It's sort of surreal that a live action Pokemon movie exists, but aside from the crazy weird designs the movie seems generic.

The problem with the designs is it's a serious style clash. Pokemon have always existed in an anime style, just adding fur texture or w/e doesn't make them 'realistic'. It's better fit for a world where all the people are like animegao kigurumi cosplay.

All of you arent judging fairly. In my opinion, the movie looks great. The pokemon look great and Ryan Reynolds voice is perfect as detective pikachu.
