There was a lot of attention to detail which made it difficult to disprove outright. Combine that with the roster being what a lot of people's wishlists looked like, wishful thinking took over the reasonable part of a lot of people's brains for a while.
Honestly it's amazing how people still fall for excessively blurry images of things these days; getting harder and harder to have a real excuse why your 'leak' is so blurry LOL
