Zero Kirby Writes Reviews! [Updated: 12/28] - Zero Kirby - 12-01-2017 My latest one as of March 7, 2018? Metroid Prime. So yeah, this is my blog where I write and post video game reviews! I should do it more often than I actually do, but y'know whatevs. Keep an eye out for more from me in the future hopefully sooner than later? RE: Zero Kirby Writes Reviews! - The Dark Warrior - 12-01-2017 Ive always rather liked your reviews for being fairly analytical on the games you cover man, with your through coverage of the Metroid games for instance. I hope to see more reviews of the games you play. RE: Zero Kirby Writes Reviews! - Zero Kirby - 12-25-2017 I wrote a brand new one for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 for Nintendo Switch! Check it out. RE: Zero Kirby Writes Reviews! - Zero Kirby - 12-28-2017 Whoa nelly! It's Xenoblade Chronicles 2! But alas, it is not Reyn time... RE: Zero Kirby Writes Reviews! [Updated: 12/28] - Zero Kirby - 03-07-2018 Here comes The March of Metroid! And up first on the review block is the original masterpiece, Metroid Prime! https://kirbysreviewblog.wordpress.com/2018/03/07/metroid-prime-space-jump/ I'm also working on getting the livestream I did of the game uploaded to YouTube. Part One can be found here, and I should have the rest uploaded within the next couple days! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QoPZo8LkIlc And naturally, I'll be doing streams and reviews of Echoes and Corruption later this month as well, so keep an eye out for them! And when I've done those, who knows? Maybe I'll stream some other Metroid goodness! RE: Zero Kirby Writes Reviews! [Updated: 12/28] - VinnyVideo - 03-07-2018 Nice job on the Metroid Prime review. Good stuff. I recently realized that I've never played a "real" Metroid game (other than Char's old Metroid fangame and about five minutes of AM2R). What would be the best starting point for someone who's never Metroided before? RE: Zero Kirby Writes Reviews! [Updated: 12/28] - Zero Kirby - 03-07-2018 Prime was my personal starting point, and it's a pretty good place to start. You don't really have to know a lot about the main series in order to get any enjoyment, and it helps that it's technically the second game in the overall timeline. Plus it's like, $20 on the Wii U eShop with the other two Prime games, in the Trilogy rerelease. Zero Mission's also a good place to start, if you want some 2D Metroid action. RE: Zero Kirby Writes Reviews! [Updated: 12/28] - Saltman - 03-07-2018 Do you like the original metroid game? RE: Zero Kirby Writes Reviews! [Updated: 12/28] - Kritter - 03-07-2018 Well written, but you didn't mention all the backtracking in the late game (unless it wasn't an issue for you) unless I missed it. Definitely my favourite Metroid Series. I rarely 100% the games I play but I got 100% in all 3 Metroid Prime titles back in the day. RE: Zero Kirby Writes Reviews! You are right, I didn't mention it, but that's because whenever I play the game now I just pick up all the Chozo Artifacts as I go, and don't really need to backtrack at all. So... yeah it isn't really an issue for me, heh. It's much more problematic in 2, and I'll definitely address it in that game for sure. @Saltman: Not terribly too much, no. RE: Zero Kirby Writes Reviews! [Updated: 12/28] - Kritter - 03-07-2018 I personally never minded the backtracking (or maybe I just don't remember disliking it because it was so long ago), I never really have an issue with that kind of thing if the game world is fun to be in. Even in Wind Waker I enjoyed it to a degree, mainly because I like travelling in these worlds. RE: Zero Kirby Writes Reviews! Even in Wind Waker I enjoyed it to a degree, mainly because I like travelling in these worlds. I suppose it depends on the world, yeah. Dark Aether's just kind of a pain to traverse because it's so fragmented, and you can't really collect the Sky Temple Keys in advance like you could the Chozo Artifacts in Prime, so it felt a lot more egregious. Granted, 70% of the game was wrapped up in the last three months of development, so I think, if they had a little more time on their hands, they probably could have crafted a more cohesive world that flowed a bit better. It's impressive that the game even works at all, considering. Wind Waker just had the problem of spending all that money having Tingle translate the maps - were it not for that I don't think I would've minded the quest as much, because yeah, I do like adventure on the high seas in that game. I did like the HD update changing five of the charts to just being the shards, though. RE: Zero Kirby Writes Reviews! [Updated: 12/28] - Mariotroid - 03-08-2018 Metroid Prime is an amazing game and that is quite the review. Metroid will always have a place in my heart as a great fun game. I like Prime 2 better.... Prime 1 is a close second. ...now bring me Prime 4 |
