Sadly, I am barely Metroid literate! My Metroid experience is limited to Char's Metroid fangame, five minutes of AM2R, and the Smash games. I ought to play some more of the Metroid games - I have been an extremely neglectful person.
I probably don't have much to offer a Metroid chat group, but good luck!
