RE: MFGG Open Golf - HylianDev - 02-13-2019

I'm curious to learn more

is this a fangame you're making, or just an idea?

RE: MFGG Open Golf - Honey Saucer Gengar - 02-13-2019

An idea

RE: MFGG Open Golf - Fun With Despair - 02-13-2019

Moved this over to developer discussion, as it's a fangame idea and not an existing game.

RE: MFGG Open Golf - Honey Saucer Gengar - 02-13-2019

Maybe this could be a community fangame project.

RE: MFGG Open Golf - VinnyVideo - 02-13-2019

It's actually crossed my mind to make a golf game. I can't promise I'll ever make one, but you never know!

What does the "Speed" stat mean?

RE: MFGG Open Golf - Honey Saucer Gengar - 02-14-2019

How fast the ball travels

RE: MFGG Open Golf - VinnyVideo - 02-14-2019

If "Speed" refers to how fast the ball travels, then what does "Power" mean?

RE: MFGG Open Golf - Honey Saucer Gengar - 02-15-2019

How hard the character hits the golf ball

RE: MFGG Open Golf - Evil Yoshi Toes - 02-15-2019

This would be an interesting game. I haven't seen any golf fan games.

I love the implication that China does not in fact, have water.

RE: MFGG Open Golf - Hyper - 02-15-2019

I felt like the courses should be locations based in Mario Universe (minus the educational Mario games) like: Mushroom Kingdom, Bean Bean Kingdom, Yoshi's Island, Subcon, etc.

Can confirm. China does not have real water.

RE: MFGG Open Golf - VinnyVideo - 02-15-2019

Power and Speed sound like the same thing, since a golf ball will travel faster (and typically farther) if the player hits it hard. I'd suggest using a different system for distinguishing different players. Power and Accuracy would be a good starting point. Or you could rate players by their ability to hit different types of shots - drives, fairway, rough, approach shots, and putting, for example.

I agree with @Hypernova that it would make more sense to have some courses inspired by the Mario world (or even fangames!).

Hahahaha.

Yeah it seems like Speed is the result of Power (and speed would go down over time, unless you mean initial speed)

RE: MFGG Open Golf - OssieTheOstrich - 02-16-2019

Now i know that this is just an idea, and a pretty nice idea i admit, but why are there only Staff members as playable characters? And furthermore, why did you place yourself on top of the Staff? Thinking

Also, can a member request you to add them to your idea?

RE: MFGG Open Golf - Honey Saucer Gengar - 02-16-2019

A member can request a playable role.

RE: MFGG Open Golf - Honey Saucer Gengar - 03-26-2019

Here are the holes that are present in this version:
Holes 17 and 4 of the Japan and Australia courses respectively, are holes 7 and 3 in Shifting Sand Land.

Hole 3 in the Australia Course is Hole 7 in Subcon

Hole 1 in the Australia Course is Hole 13 in Lava Lava Island with the Rough being replaced by lava.

RE: MFGG Open Golf - Great Destination Tracks 3 - 03-27-2019

Okee dokee,

RE: MFGG Open Golf - Honey Saucer Gengar - 04-04-2019

Another thing is the difficulty:
At the beginning only Toad Highlands and the forest of illusion are available.
The par limit is absent from Toad Highlands to Lava Lava Island.
The par limit is 12 in Shifting Sand Land, 9 in DK Jungle, 6 in Chilly Waters, and 4 in Bowser's Kingdom.

One more thing:
Some holes have secret greens, getting the ball in one of the secret greens transports the player to a secret hole.
The way to tell apart these greens is the color of their flag, normal greens have red flags. Holes with one secret green denote that hole with a green flag. Holes with two secret greens have another one with a blue flag. And holes with three secret greens have one with a yellow flag.
