[ANNOUNCMENT] Company Name Change (Form. Dreamcatcher) - Princess Peach - 04-07-2019 DISCLAIMER: If you haven't known yet, this is not an official company (yet), it is basically simply a name for the collection of products I plan to put out such as games, amusement parks, and toys. The company will become official in the future, and licensing concerns will be answered later on down the thread. Hello. I've decided to Switch my company name over to a new one. It was formally Dreamcatcher, Now it's: (Nimio) (I'll formulate the actual image logo later.) This name is based upon the combinations of the company names Nintendo and Namco, and just like how the GameCube expanded upon what the N64 started, or the SNES upon what the NES started - Nimio expands upon what Nintendo had started. Now, obviously, I need license permissions from Nintendo and Namco themselves in order to use the name, which those I will certainly get/buy when the company becomes a proper official company. So there's no need to complain to me about license infringement. Also, this means that my nickname will no longer be Luna or Lumini, but I'll be choosing whatever nickname seems cool to me (as butterbean or dark_warrior_8390) whenever I enter and/or sign up for other sites from now on. Thanks for reading, and have a nice day. ^_^ RE: [ANNOUNCMENT] Company Name Change (Form. Dreamcatcher) - Fun With Despair - 04-08-2019 not even gonna comment on the rest, but the notion that you have to go to nintendo and namco to get the license for a name that is fundamentally entirely different from either of them is rather absurd also dude, dreamcatcher is, and I cannot state this enough, a much much better name RE: [ANNOUNCMENT] Company Name Change (Form. Dreamcatcher) - Evil Yoshi Toes - 04-09-2019 Is this a role play of some kind? I'm a little confused. RE: [ANNOUNCMENT] Company Name Change (Form. RE: [ANNOUNCMENT] Company Name Change (Form. Dreamcatcher) - Princess Peach - 04-09-2019 For those who were confused by this thread, this is not a roleplay by any means, this is serious. Just playing it safe here. ![]() And although it's ultimately all just my opinion - yes, Fun, I do understand your notion, but I prefer the new name myself, it sounds like 'Nintendo' and 'Hardcore Classic' (and of of course Namco), and I like it very much. Again, I understand your reasons for you much liking the old name. Remember from School House Rock; even if all the Congress vote Yes, the President can still say No. Again, just my opinion. ![]() SIDE NOTE: I just realized as of now - why not have Dreamcatcher be a child studio instead?! That'd actually be very nice to have, of course. ![]() RE: [ANNOUNCMENT] Company Name Change (Form. Dreamcatcher) - HylianDev - 04-09-2019 really, the only reason you should fear nintendo or namco is because you have publicly stated that you intend for your company name to be inspired by theirs. that was a pretty big mistake lol amusement parks? you'd need a hundred million to do something like that I bet lol. awfully ambitious. and there's only room for a few of those in the world, anyway; I'm sure it's incredibly competitive, and even with a hundred million, your competitor is disney world. just being realistic: don't hedge your bets on that one too much. RE: [ANNOUNCMENT] Company Name Change (Form. Dreamcatcher) - Princess Peach - 04-21-2019 Heads up! I also applied a new banner and profile pic to the new channel itself! Here it is! (Because I'm not sure about the content in it, and also being a little big for the page, that's why it's in a spoiler). RE: [ANNOUNCMENT] Company Name Change (Form. Dreamcatcher) - HylianDev - 04-23-2019 I'd suggest against using the term "business" to describe your fan works operation, as that kind of language makes you an even more appealing target for Nintendo to swoop down and stop you if you want this to be a business, start over & never use anymore copyrighted materials. or, if you want to do fanworks, keep doing this but drop the "business" thing. but you can't really do both, unfortunately. My original plan was to BOTH be an outsourcer and a fanworks maker, but assuming your theory is true, I'd only be able to do either one side. If it's fanworks, on the other hand, it'll be just that: fanworks; no business involved at all. RE: [ANNOUNCMENT] Company Name Change (Form. Unless I'm interpreting this wrong, you want to OWN Nintendo's IP and characters? That's insane. RE: [ANNOUNCMENT] Company Name Change (Form. Dreamcatcher) - Evil Yoshi Toes - 04-23-2019 Edit: Actually after thinking about it more, I don't want to squash your dreams. If this is your vision go for it and I will support you along the way. Just don't sell a fan game and get sued please. RE: [ANNOUNCMENT] Company Name Change (Form. I don't want to own it myself, certainly not; it's Nintendo's property, after all, and I and I'll certainly let them own it themselves. Again, sorry for the confusion. |
