I've heard original songs, songs that are remixes of other video game songs, and songs that are directly taken from something that isn't a video game (like an album or a movie), but what about video game songs inspired by non-video game songs? I think they can be rather interesting. On a similar note, Saria's Song in Zelda 64 takes a bit of inspiration from the Jupiter theme from The Planets. I can think of a bunch of examples from DKC2, which remains one of my favorite game soundtracks:
