Super Mario Flashback: Really Good Edition (Another Release Coming Soon) - OssieTheOstrich - 09-03-2019 So I had this idea for a few days now and I thought to myself, why not make it now? It's called Super Mario Flashback: Really Good Edition, and it's @Mors's fangame Super Mario Flashback, but made to be more like SM64: Really Good Edition by Cruise Elroy. It's my third joke game. (Fourth if you count Donkey Kong '94 Remix.) It also has controller support. And the Mario sprite is based off TerminalMontage's Mario. Some stuff from this was ported from Waluigi Joke Game and will be ported back to said joke game. Click the picture to download the zip of the game. ![]() I'm planning on making a update which will have more stuff from Flashback as well as more memes/jokes. RE: Super Mario Flashback: Really Good Edition - OssieTheOstrich - 09-04-2019 Added Koopa Shells. ![]() Added the Green Star. ![]() Patrick from Spongbob Squarepants is the Green Star, if you haven't noticed. Added the Power Star, Level Clear Animation, Level Transition and Lakitu Race from the older version of Flashback. ![]() Also I'm (probably almost) done with 1-1. (why was this level sooooooo long) The level in which you race Lakitu is also from the older version of Flashback. Here is what happens if you win the race. ![]() And here is what happens when you lose the race. ![]() I'm think I finished most of the game, other than making some credits, adding powerups and things like that. Once I add those I'll probably release a demo tomorrow, and if I do this will be the shortest fangame I ever made. RE: Super Mario Flashback: Really Good Edition - OssieTheOstrich - 09-05-2019 Added the Long Question Blocks. ![]() Some minor scenery stuff. The Ground Pound. ![]() Springs. ![]() Fire Flower. ![]() this (warning it's a spoiler!) So, I'm gonna release a demo of this now, and once I get feedback from that I'll add and change a few things around and then release the game as "complete". Windows Version.zip Mac OS Version.zip Alright, here you go folks! (NOTE: there will be more memes and other unexpected stuff in the final version.) RE: Super Mario Flashback: Really Good Edition - OssieTheOstrich - 09-08-2019 i only have two things to show Surprise! ![]() Oh and here is a small poster scattered through-out the levels. I'll also appear in the Waluigi Joke Game and Paper Mario the Well-Crafted Journey. There's also another version of it. RE: Super Mario Flashback: Really Good Edition - OssieTheOstrich - 09-13-2019 Sneak peaks of 1-2's changes... (these pictures are in the game editor.) Changes to two of the splashes. ![]() ![]() I tried to make them funnier, and I think I've might've probably succeeded. RE: Super Mario Flashback: Really Good Edition - Evan.F - 09-13-2019 Looks good. So far I would suggest makeimg the long question block simply a stretched out version of the regular RE: Super Mario Flashback: Really Good Edition - OssieTheOstrich - 09-16-2019 (09-13-2019, 05:22 PM)Evan.F Wrote: Looks good. Anywho, more dev-stuff. sneaky peakys at the credits Added a Sonic 1 styled act screen, cause why not. ![]() Before you ask, no, the act screen doesn't take that long to load, it's just that I had to pause the game after Mario died so it could show up not being all laggy. They will be 2 acts for the level, which I've technically shown to y'all, as well as a boss act. Also I don't know if you guys know this but Act 2 has fog. also buff luigi is here again Oh and speaking of that boss act.. ![]() Remember that April Fools tweet Mors did about there being a "Super Mario Flashback 2"? Well that Mario from that tweet is in here and he is a boss. Also he's supposed to say a "YA-HA" from the old Mario 64 Mel Blanc samples, but I only made the animation say it, I didn't add the actual audio. He will be a Mega Man like boss, but his health bar will be the one used in some Sonic ROM hacks. RE: Super Mario Flashback: Really Good Edition - OssieTheOstrich - 09-20-2019 Alright, the game is done. Click the picture to download the zip of the game. ![]() If you guys would want more levels to this I'll add them someday, but for now I need to focus on Mario Generations and other stuff.. RE: Super Mario Flashback: Really Good Edition - PedroInTheForums - 09-21-2019 ![]() RE: Super Mario Flashback: Really Good Edition - OssieTheOstrich - 02-11-2020 shhhhh... ![]() probably gonna add artificial slowdown to this RE: Super Mario Flashback: Really Good Edition - OssieTheOstrich - 02-12-2020 yo @Toony, your gun wielding Mario has merged with Hernesto and uh wants revenge, or somethin' probably gonna remove the zone intro in the underground level ![]() RE: Super Mario Flashback: Really Good Edition - OssieTheOstrich - 03-22-2020 Speak up, y'all, cause here comes Yoshi. ![]() (not actually in-game, just a mockup) By the way, this image and the caption are a reference to this tweet: ![]() RE: Super Mario Flashback: Really Good Edition - Mariotroid - 04-03-2020 I played the game. It's pretty fun. Challenging however. I got to the part past the flag and to the part with many moving platforms. The platforms move way too fast so it's really tough. This is a beginning level, I'd advise making the game much easier. Maybe more of a hit box for enemies too. As I found difficulty hitting them properly. Good work. RE: Super Mario Flashback: Really Good Edition (Another Release Coming Soon) - Roo - 04-06-2020 I don't know if it's a problem on your end or mine, but I can't see any of the images you post. I just see "[Image: yoshwalkwip.png]".
