What is your dream career? - strabiri - 10-10-2019 Basically what career would you love to have in the future. For a lot of people this may be singer, soldier, policeman, astronaut, but what is yours? Personally, my dream career is being an author. I've always enjoyed writing and I consider myself... pretty decent at it. I wouldn't consider myself the best in any way, but I am decent enough. I'd love to hear you guys' dream careers, though. And maybe check out some of my writing, if I ever decide to share any. RE: What is your dream career? - Vert - 10-10-2019 Game dev. I imagine that's the answer for most people here. RE: What is your dream career? - Evil Yoshi Toes - 10-10-2019 I'd love to be able to to make a living just doing freelance illustration, but realistically I'm going to need to have other jobs too since it's not something with a stable income. RE: What is your dream career? - Clobbah - 10-10-2019 I'd really like to work at Nintendo. Luckily, there's NST (Nintendo Software Technology) in Washington. They're basically Nintendo's North American development division. The thing they're most well known for is the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series. I'm hoping they're working on bigger games and stuff now since they ported Captain Toad to the Switch and 3DS. Working there would be pretty cool. RE: What is your dream career? - CuteYoshiGirl - 10-11-2019 Still want to be a comic book illustrator RE: What is your dream career? - Vert - 10-11-2019 (10-10-2019, 06:43 PM)Clobbah Wrote: I'd really like to work at Nintendo. The thing they're most well known for is the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series. It's not impossible to get hired at NoJ as a foreigner. Remember that story about Corey Bunnell that went around a few years ago, who posted in 2007 on a forum he wanted to work at Nintendo and then managed to do so and work on BotW? There's also NERD I guess. RE: What is your dream career? - Clobbah - 10-11-2019 Plus, NERD (lol) doesn't actually develop games, unlike NST and Nintendo's Japanese divisions. RE: What is your dream career? - Yoshin - 10-11-2019 My dream career is breeding arthropods. Spiders, scorpions, beetles, etc. My absolute favourite animals plus breeding helps populations from going extinct, a number of tarantula species are extinct in the wild and captive breeding for the pet trade is one of the only things keeping them around. RE: What is your dream career? - GeneralGuy - 10-12-2019 Acting, making movies and/or developing video games. Spiders, scorpions, beetles, etc. I do post bits and pieces to my instagram currently but I don't have a lot(just millipedes currently for breeding) Next year for sure I'll be starting to breed a lot more(gonna save up for some rarer things like Australian, New Zealand and Japanese spiders.) RE: What is your dream career? - strabiri - 10-13-2019 I posted this thread expecting completely unrealistic goals, and, surprisingly, all of these seem pretty realistic for you guys. Game development seems to have shown up the most (as expected from Mario Fan Games Galaxy. A lot of you are great developers and artists and those things seem like realistic careers for you all. Even Yoshin's bug breeding thing is pretty realistic for her, at least. I mean, I'd never breed bugs, but it's certainly something I'd expect someone like Yoshin to do. I like the idea of developing video games, I like the idea of making music as well, but I feel like I couldn't dedicate the time, money, and effort to do any of those things. I'd love to learn coding, and some sort of instrument, but at the time I think the creative field I am interested in the most is being an author due to the fact that it's relatively easy to just pick up a keyboard and start writing. If being an author doesn't ever work out for me, I think I'd go into the military. Now, there's a lot of better jobs to do than military, but I think that serving my country would probably give me at least a small bit of good rep, right? Nah, if I ever get any success doing anything like writing or even jobs college, I think I'll definitely rethink the military thing. RE: What is your dream career? - Angustia - 10-13-2019 Realistically my dream career is in IT. Repairing, fixing and helping other people with computers. If I really want to get deeper into it(which why not) I'll get into the the server side of things as well but I also want to become an artist of some kind. Whether that be drawing or video editing..those are really the only things I have a desire to pursue career wise. I'd love to work for Nintendo as a developer/programmer one day but by the time my skills are up to the task(I'm very self critical.) I might be an old man by then. Good thread. RE: What is your dream career? - Fourside Seven - 10-13-2019 Comic writing and illustration. Primarily my own work, but I'm hoping to use it as a stepping stone to open up doors to lots of commissioned work in the future. RE: What is your dream career? - Yoshin - 10-20-2019 Issue with getting Aussie spiders is uh Getting them out of Australia, since even normal airmail is scanned if it leaves the country RE: What is your dream career? - Daisy - 10-20-2019 (10-20-2019, 11:28 PM)Yoshin Wrote: Issue with getting Aussie spiders is uh Why not just go to Australia then?
