joke game pitch ( SUPER MARIO SHOPPING SPREE) - Evan.F - 10-20-2019
I came up with this during the summer and I have to share this idea. Picture the intro.
Mario and luigi are hving breakfast in which Mario goes to get bread for toast (insert "all toasters toast toast" here). Then he realises THERE IS NO TOAST). desperately Mario decides to get toast and BLJ's out the window into a abandoned shopping trolley using the momentum to reach his destination. This is the tutorial level.
Gameplay is like a 3d autorunner. Mario moves forward automatically and you move left and right. There's also a trick system off of ramps like the modern sonic games. your goal is to reach the end without losing momentum. when you touch an enemy or hazard you lose momentum and if you hit a wall, poison or lava, it's game over.
Every time you get to the end of a level you reach the levels shop, Mario goes in for the bonus round. Here when Mario reaches the end. when on the sides of the shop Mario will put his hand out and push all the items along. this is a streak where you grab as much stuff into the shopping trolley (shopping cart) at once. These levels are designed like mazes and have their own gimmiks.
After the tutorial the supermarket Mario got the bread in explodes or something and , to make this worse, every single Mario character calls for Mario to do their shopping for them. Think Super Mario Maker 2's story mode but the people giving you the task are unlikable. Each level location has a themed shop to go along (e.g. Fish shop in the underwater world). By the end of the game Marios bread has gone mouldy and must go to the one place there is bread. After the final battle over the toast (yes there are bosses. It's a brutal death race to get the item in question), Mario goes home to have his toast.
I hope any of you's would be interested in making this, as I really want to see this happen, and I don't have the ability to make this myself.

This sounds absolutely beautiful.
