Hi everyone, I want to introduce you to Super Nitro Racing, a crossover fan game from the Super Mario and Crash Bandicoot franchises.

This is pretty cool! A few thoughts:
  • The game is designed to be a Mario-Crash crossover. I see a number of Crash-themed characters and items, but it would be nice to have a few Crash-related tracks as well.
  • Time Trial mode would be a nice addition - especially if you implemented an online high scores system.
  • It's very difficult to wiggle free if you crash head-on into certain walls.
  • I like how you can give some characters different colors/costumes. It would be nice if different Shy-Guy colors were available, too.
  • More sound effects would be nice - like for selecting menu options, or when Lakitu is fishing you out.

  • Yes, the tracks are under development, as I reported in the video description!
  • Time Trial mode has been retired for a speed defect, however, Custom mode is similar if you choose to have no opponents and items because it records time at the end of the race!
  • About the wall, I can see some alternative, but at the moment, has the back button!
  • Not all characters will have other skins, for the sake of limitation, I prefer to have more characters than skins, shyguy will only have other colors if I work on his redesign, I made him, but I didn't like it much!
  • sound effects on the menu will probably come and for other things, only if I find it really necessary!
I plan on multiplayer, but it will take a while to get ready, anything else like online modes and registrations, I don't intend to put in the game, not as long as I have limited programming skills, I'm noob, but I can do if I learn to do!

This is a cool project! The main issue I had is that, like Vinny mentioned, crashing into obstacles is way too punishing. Even with the back button, it's really hard to get back on track and it takes so much time that crashing into one object can move you down many places.

Great work on this project. I'm looking forward to future updates.

Thanks, I'll see what I can do with this problem, when I got the engine, it was even worse, the car is practically stuck in the wall when crashed!

This looks like a very stellar project, but the screenshots aren't loading on my end. Is anyone else having this issue, or is there something I need to do?

if more people have the same problem i will host the screenshots on another website!
