MFGG Awards 2019 - RESULTS - Mors - 01-16-2020 It's time my friends! I'll be starting to post the results in a bit so get ready! RE: MFGG Awards 2019 - RESULTS - Mors - 01-16-2020 BEST CONCEPT: Mega Man Maker by Mega Man Maker Team It's Super Mario Maker but with Mega Man, what else can I say? Now you might be wondering why a game from 2017 is here, well, it was submitted to the main site in 2019 and it's consistently getting major updates, so as far as I'm concerned it counts! https://mfgg.net/index.php?act=resdb¶m=02&c=2&id=35607 RE: MFGG Awards 2019 - RESULTS - Mors - 01-16-2020 BEST LEVEL DESIGN: Super Mario Power Star Frenzy by Random.NICK Probably one of the most ambitious and most well made Mario fangames ever made, and the latest demo of it comes with 45 really well designed levels! If you are expecting more of it though, well... It's unfortunately cancelled, but the Nick is currently working on his indie game so you might wanna check that out instead! https://mfgg.net/?act=resdb¶m=02&c=2&id=33427 RE: MFGG Awards 2019 - RESULTS - Mors - 01-16-2020 BEST NARRATIVE: Super Mario Dimensions 2 by LangtonLion64 Remember the original Super Mario Dimensions from back in the day? Thought it had a solid story? Well it only gets better here! I won't spoil it too much though, go check it out yourself! https://mfgg.net/index.php?act=resdb¶m=02&c=2&id=36132 RE: MFGG Awards 2019 - RESULTS - Mors - 01-16-2020 BEST ART DIRECTION: Super Mario Unimaker 1.S by Mario Silva I mean, who could say no to custom spritework combined with vibrant colors and really impressive amounts of attention to detail? https://mfgg.net/?act=resdb¶m=02&c=2&id=35241 RE: MFGG Awards 2019 - RESULTS - Mors - 01-16-2020 BEST AUDIO: Mega Man Maker by Mega Man Maker Team If you thought Mega Man Maker only had themes from the 8-bit games then, you're wrong. There are also a bunch of really well done 8-bit remixes of music from later titles too. And this is Mega Man we are talking about, of course it's good stuff. https://mfgg.net/index.php?act=resdb¶m=02&c=2&id=35607 RE: MFGG Awards 2019 - RESULTS - Mors - 01-16-2020 BEST HUMOR: Mario Drinks a Glass of Milk by LangtonLion64 The title explains it all so I don't really have to say anything, do I? https://mfgg.net/index.php?act=resdb¶m=02&c=2&id=35607 RE: MFGG Awards 2019 - RESULTS - Mors - 01-16-2020 MOST OVERLOOKED: Mario Drinks a Glass of Milk by LangtonLion64 milk https://mfgg.net/index.php?act=resdb¶m=02&c=2&id=35607 RE: MFGG Awards 2019 - RESULTS - Mors - 01-16-2020 MOST UNDERRATED: British Mario VS I.M. Meen by DrZuplow 2019 saw a lot, and I mean a LOT of joke games, and it seems like among them people thought that British Mario was the one that deserved more love. https://mfgg.net/index.php?act=resdb¶m=02&c=2&id=35139 RE: MFGG Awards 2019 - RESULTS - Mors - 01-16-2020 MOST ANTICIPATED: Super Mario Bros. & The Midas Machine by Team Midas This game has been in development for more than a decade, yet people can't seem to forget about it. I'd consider that a good thing though, considering that it's very close to completion. Maybe 2020 will be the year of Midas Machine? We will see! https://forums.mfgg.net/showthread.php?tid=124 RE: MFGG Awards 2019 - RESULTS - Mors - 01-16-2020 Now let's give awards to individual users! BEST SPRITER: Neweegee My boy Neweegee grabs yet another award! I mean what can I say, he's good! RE: MFGG Awards 2019 - RESULTS - Mors - 01-16-2020 BEST ARTIST: Evil Yoshi Toes Some of you might get surprised by this one but, like, he's drawing some REALLY impressive stuff, so congrats Evil Yoshi, you deserved it. RE: MFGG Awards 2019 - RESULTS - Mors - 01-16-2020 BEST COMPOSER: Catonator and Hypernova Heh, here's our first tie. While Hypernova is mostly known for his chiptune remixes, Catonator is more well known for his more original work. And yeah they are both great what they do, so congrats you two! RE: MFGG Awards 2019 - RESULTS - Mors - 01-16-2020 BEST PROGRAMMER: Mors Hahahahah HAHAHAHAAH yessss I'm the master of code! Bow in front of me, mortals! You will never reach my level of programming genius, so all you can do is to accept me as your new god. RE: MFGG Awards 2019 - RESULTS - Mors - 01-16-2020 JACK-OF-ALL-TRADES: Gatete He can design levels, he can make sprites, and he can most certainly program. And he's good at all of them, so I guess that ticks most of the boxes? RE: MFGG Awards 2019 - RESULTS - Mors - 01-16-2020 BEST NEWCOMER: Toony lol toony actually won RE: MFGG Awards 2019 - RESULTS - Mors - 01-16-2020 INDIE GAME OF THE YEAR: Pucamuc by Mors and Sosig by Mors and Snarf Dang, it's a tie and it's both my games. Well, that's surprising. Oh yeah well, Snarf played a huge part in Sosig too so I guess it's not just me in a way https://mors-games.itch.io/sosig https://mors-games.itch.io/pucamuc RE: MFGG Awards 2019 - RESULTS - Mors - 01-16-2020 ROM HACK OF THE YEAR: Super Mario: Endless Earth by MARIOFANATIC64 and Luigi's Other Mansion by TheHappyFaceKing One of them is a hack of NSMB that turns the game into an open world game, and the other one is a Luigi's Mansion hack that makes enough changes to it to keep it fresh. These two can't get more different, yet it seems like they are both really good! https://mfgg.net/index.php?act=resdb¶m=02&c=7&id=35152 https://mfgg.net/index.php?act=resdb¶m=02&c=7&id=35181 RE: MFGG Awards 2019 - RESULTS - Mors - 01-16-2020 FANGAME OF THE YEAR: Super Mario Power Star Frenzy by Random.NICK and Mario Takes a Three by MTA3 Team We've already talked about Power Star Frenzy, it's a fangame with lots of well designed levels, and a ton of polish. There is really no other fangame at that level, so no wonder it's a winner. Congratulations Nick! Mario Takes a Three on the other hand is the level compilation game for the contest with the same name. It features several levels with... varying levels of quality, but hey, apparently the good bits were good enough for people to like the whole package! Plus you cannot deny that some of those bad levels kind of have that "so bad it's good" charm. https://mfgg.net/index.php?act=resdb¶m=02&c=2&id=33427 https://mfgg.net/index.php?act=resdb¶m=02&c=2&id=36312 RE: MFGG Awards 2019 - RESULTS - Mors - 01-16-2020 FANGAME OF THE DECADE: Psycho Waluigi by Thunder Dragon I mean, yeah, it of course is Psycho Waluigi! Do I need to say more? Even Nathaniel Bandy made a video on it. If Nathaniel Bandy made a video about it, it MUST be good! Joking aside though, Psycho Waluigi really is an amazing game. Sure it might not have the best graphics and sure it might be a little bit clunky to control the Psycho Iris, but no other fangame out there has this level of creativity Not to mention the rock solid level design and the whole atmosphere of the game. It is hard to explain why this game is so great, you have to experience it first hand to believe it https://mfgg.net/index.php?act=resdb¶m=02&c=2&id=25698 |
