I had a creative writing assignment in my class where I was supposed write a short story. The minimum length was one page, so I, of course, went ahead and wrote six pages of something that ended being more like the beginning of a more grandiose tale than a short story. This is a lot of fun! I wouldn't mind seeing a continuation of Norman's incredibly average adventures...
You have a strong vocabulary and a very engaging writing style. Watch out for a few long sentences in the first paragraph of the second page, though - you could probably afford to split them up a bit.
(I'll give you an 'A' for this assignment!)
