Porcupo's Journey (game concept art) - tymime - 08-17-2020

Some doodles for a fangame idea I had a while back.

Just the other day I started writing a story for it (with a little help from AI Dungeon), and I'm pretty pleased with how it's going so far:

I like the idea of playing as an ordinary enemy and digging through the ground, it's different from the norm! You can make a lot of puzzle-based levels with this digging mechanic. I'm interested in taking part of this.

You're welcome to help if this ever becomes an actual thing. I'm one of those unfortunate people that has game ideas but no clue how to actually make one.
I could sprite, write the story, write the music, maybe even design levels... but I don't know if I have enough room inside my head to learn coding.

I think I have the coding knowledge... Especially since it's such a simple concept for a game! There's only one problem I thought of, and it's that there's no way for the Porcupo to move upwards or downwards in your concept. I'm thinking that maybe he can dig the ground in 4 directions by pressing the arrow keys. But for it to make more sense, he should also have the ability to walk on walls. I don't know if you'll like this idea.

Oh I've got him digging upwards- in the drawing where he grabs a veggie from below.
Anyway, a lot of burrowing animals can dig straight down and back up again, so it wouldn't be too far-fetched.

Interesting concept for a character spin off game! What genre that would be since there's no jump involved?

I've been thinking about it, and I was thinking somewhere in between Captain Toad and Dig Dug. So I guess puzzle-platformer would be the best way to describe it.

So I don't know if you guys have the read the story I've written so far, but I've gone ahead and drawn the main villain- a giant, ancient Tweeter brought back from the dead and ready to bring about the end of the world and all that.
Honestly still surprised a Tweeter could wind up so creepy...
