An interesting development. It's a very big company buying most of another very big company, so as the article states, the transaction will probably face regulatory scrutiny. I doubt the regulatory pressure will cause the deal to fall through, but it probably will take a long time for the deal to be completed and approved. Then again, the Trump administration can be unpredictable, so who knows what will happen.

I'm willing to bet that Disney made this deal only so they could get the movie rights to X-Men and Fantastic 4.

Anything else would be a bonus.

You mean like the Simpsons, Family guy, Ice Age, and that Independence Day thingy?

Excited by what this means for X-Men, Fantastic Four. Being able to incorporate these Marvel properties into the greater Marvel Universe is nice.

Concerned what this could mean for the in-development Magic: The Gathering film.

My guess is they want lots of this stuff, in part, for their Netflix-like streaming platform they are starting.

I'm a bit worried about Disney taking control of the world at this point. All corporations seem to have power now. Oh well, at least it's still 2017.
