Adding a "Mario Discussion" subforum - Cruise Elroy - 12-14-2017
This is something I've noticed that MFGG strangely never picked up on. Usually, in other fam-made forums, they have a subforum dedicated to talking about the franchise/character that the site itself focuses on the most, but as far as I'm aware, MFGG never had anything like this. Simply put, it would be a subforum where users could create threads about Mario in any capacity, be it talking about his upcoming games, analyzing any of his classic games, discussing rumors of new merchandise, you name it. I was thinking this could either be nested in the Gaming subforum or just be its own subforum below it in the community section. Thoughts?

I'm not a huge fan of subforums, as they tend to get overlooked. The Gaming forum already provides a place for discussing Mario-related things, but on the other hand, I see your point in that maybe a Mario-centric community should have a dedicated spot for discussing the franchise we're based on.

There's just not that much to SAY about Mario though. There's no lore other than "Bowser steals Peach" and if a new game comes out it generally only needs a topic devoted to it rather than a subforum. Even the Mario Odyssey forum section we had barely got a look in because there just wasn't much to say about it. Mario is just one of those games where a "General Mario Discussion" forum section isn't really necessary in my opinion because I'd imagine all we'd get are polls like "Who's your favourite Mario character" or "What's your favourite Mario stage" which are fine topics but not worth dedicating a whole forum section to, and nothing that can't already be posted in Gaming or General Chat either.

This would be superfluous, because the Gaming subforum does this perfectly adequately.
