... and I signed on to plug my crappy text adventure game that isn't even Mario-related, because I'm an a**h***
Did I miss anything important? Flamewars? Staff upsets? Any more fangames that turned out to be full of malware and phishing schemes?

why did you get mad over half-life alyx being/not being half-life 3, like were you a fan of half-life for that long? I only got into the series at the beginning of this year so I don't really feel too bad about hla as is

Actually I don't think he knows it's me.
But it's not really sp+icebane drama he's just lashing out at the whole community because someone said half life alyx is kinda HL3 or something.

Man I feel like things would've gone over better for Valve if they just said like 7 years ago "sorry hl3 is kinda overwhelming me, got in a lil over my head, I need a break from the pressure guys" It's dumb that they made it VR-only, kind of a douchey move after everyone waited for HL3 for so long

well there really was no other way it could've turned out, like, I can't even play HLA myself but it's still really cool that Valve still managed to release a game that strays not too far from what makes Half-Life Half-Life
there's other things that do concern me about the future of the series but they don't really have to do with VR, dunno
