I removed the Twitter embed on the index page - VinnyVideo - 07-14-2023 Until today, the index page of the forums had an embedded feed of our Twitter. I removed the embed because Twitter's latest code change totally broke this widget. Maybe we can bring this back the next time Elon changes his mind. (If any admin person wants to bring back the embed, look under New MFGG Templates -> Index.) RE: I removed the Twitter embed on the index page - Vert - 07-15-2023 thanks elon RE: I removed the Twitter embed on the index page - Masakuni - 07-15-2023 ElonTwitter speeding towards the cliff RE: I removed the Twitter embed on the index page - GeneralGuy - 07-15-2023 Hope we can get the Twitter feed back soon. RE: I removed the Twitter embed on the index page - Q-Nova - 07-16-2023 Well, I guess it's better to remove it than just leave it there broken and give people the impression that the MFGG forum is breaking down. Whether the Twitter feed comes back or not, though, I think it'd be neat to see the MFGG Twitter account post more. Lately, it hasn't posted much (there's not even a tweet clarifying that the April Fools joke is, in fact, a joke). I suppose the main reason may be that not much has happened on MFGG aside from new submissions on the main site and some new posts on the forum (plus Discord, I bet). Besides the game jams that come on rare occasion, we haven't had any other competitions or events that the Twitter account could talk about. Maybe the account manager (@Mors, I believe?) could tweet about some of the high-quality submissions that people upload, giving them a bit of a spotlight. They could also retweet some of the fangame-development tweets that other people make. EDIT: Wouldn't this be more fitting in the News & Events forum? RE: I removed the Twitter embed on the index page - VinnyVideo - 07-17-2023 @Q-Nova Yeah, the Twitter would be a great place to give a shoutout to interesting games and top-notch graphics submissions from the mainsite! I stuck this topic in General Chat because I wasn't sure if the announcement was notable enough for News, but we could put it in News. It's kind of newsy. |
