RE: What's your favorite version of Windows? - Q-Nova - 11-27-2023 I'm primarily a Windows 7 user, but I voted for Windows XP because of nostalgia, awesome looks and sounds, and great compatibility with many programs that interest me (I remember being very disappointed once Age of Empires II, one of my favorite games, stopped working on Windows 7). I'd love to try out Windows XP again someday, although I have a computer that runs Windows 98. 98 is very cool; it runs AOE2 very well, runs DOS games natively (I like hearing the actual, non-emulated PC speaker sounds), and comes with some pretty awesome themes and screensavers. Only downsides are that it can't run games made with Klik & Play (but at least 7 runs them just fine) and Wario vs. Windows runs a bit slow in the final boss. While i'm a Windows 10 user, and Windows XP was one of my nostalgic moments, Windows Me and 98 were the ones that made my childhood really that special, even tho back then Me didn't have enough requirements to run Firefox or Chrome at the time.
