I guess as they say, "nothing lasts forever." At least Pokémon Bank will still be around (for now).

I don't think much cares about Wii u much, that was going to die soon enough, so closing it in 2024 and not that very early like 2020 or 2021 is pretty weird imo.

I never actually had a Wii U or 3DS, believe it or not, but it's still a bummer to see these closing. Maybe I should pick up a used 3DS so I can do online things while I still can.
I wonder how many people are still actually using online functionality on these, especially for the Wii U. (I have a feeling it's not a massive number.)

i found a decent number of players on smash 4 (3ds) on for glory a good few months back. crazy that it's still getting played, which is cool :]

Thank you for inspiring me to buy a 3DS, in part so I could check out the online features of some of the 3DS games I'd been wanting to play.
It's a bummer to see Nintendo's online servers ride off into the sunset, especially since online play was a big part of the appeal of certain 3DS/Wii U games. I wish I'd gotten a bit farther in Pokemon X so I could've gotten more out of online trading, and as MFGG's Mario Golf megafan, I would've liked more time to mess around with online tournaments in Mario Golf: World Tour.
On the other hand, at least these servers lasted longer than the Wii's, and it looks like a bunch of people are working to get unofficial online servers working.
And, of course, there's still a bunch of 3DS games I want to catch up on offline!
