Give badges to winners of MFGG Awards 2020 - Q-Nova - 02-12-2024
I said this in the MFGG Awards 2023 results thread a while ago, but in case it got overlooked I'll say it here in the Suggestions:
The winners of MFGG Awards 2020 have, to this day, not received badges, making it the only MFGG Awards event to not give badges. Since there are badges for the 2023 awards, I think the staff should make a nice badge for the hard-working people who won their well-deserved 2020 awards.

What's the status on the MFGG Awards 2020 Winner badge, @Gate? Will it be handed out?
Also, for the anniversary badge, I feel like it would be better if there was just one badge that was reused every year, instead of a unique badge for each year. I think year-specific badges work for the awards because they celebrate hard work, and serve as a memorial for the awesome contributions and content the person did in a particular year. The anniversary badges, meanwhile, are all about posting "Happy birthday" at a specific time frame. I think caution should be taken with introducing one-time badges, since they can easily clog up a member's profile. The one-time badges felt more special when there were fewer of them.

At long last, MFGG Awards 2020 badges finally happened!
@Q-Nova I agree - while it's fun to have lots of badges, I think it's best when badges take more effort to earn than just posting in an annual topic.
@GeneralGuy I understand your frustrations, even if you're being a wee bit overdramatic! I know there's still a bunch of people who care about MFGG and want to see this place thrive.

Sweet! Thanks, @VinnyVideo! I'm sure the MFGG Awards 2020 winners will be happy about that! Though, no offense, but you used the wrong image -- it's the 2023 badge. It's pretty obvious in Langton's profile (example). It should be easy to fix, I hope!
Also, is there a reason why there appears to be a blank spot between my trivia badge and award badges?

I think the badge width is higher than the normal badge size. As for the 2020 badges, im'ma send @VinnyVideo the correct image.

@Gate It seems like the correct image is already in the server, named "awards20.png":

The image used for the MFGG Awards 2020 Winner badge, however, is "awards23.png". I assume that VinnyVideo made a typo.
Sounds like you're quite busy with the CFP, which must mean that there's a lot of interest and passion in it from many people!

At first, I thought the 2020 badge didn't stand out very much from the 2019 badge. The latter may be brown, but it's a pale shade that makes it look close to gray. That might be just me, though. I can still tell the two badges apart alright. I'd suggest darkening the gray, but at the same time, I kinda like how the gray looks as it is. Wonder how the others feel.

I tweaked the trivia badge so it's less likely to cause issues now. If it keeps causing problems, try doing a refresh.
As for the 2020 Awards badge, I thought the silvery color was kind of cool too. We could tweak the colors if you want though.
And yes, the New CFP is going to be awesome indeed!

@VinnyVideo Nah, the Awards 2020 badge color is fine. Also, thanks for fixing the trivia badge! I like how all my MFGG Awards badges are in their own line now! I'm looking forward to hearing news about the CFP! (There's a CFP sub-forum in Development Showcase, with a post by @Gate, so I assume that forum-goers like me will get to see how it's going.)
