Images embedded on Discord are no longer there - OssieTheOstrich - 02-23-2024
I was poking around some threads and noticed that ones with images linked from Discord "are no longer available".
Did the MFGG discord have a purge of posts or is this only a Discord thing?

Some people were using Discord as some sort of image hosting site and all images that are posted outside Discord will not work now

Though, if one were to link an image with the "ex=longStringOfNumbers&Letters", it will still work. Case in point:

From what I understand they intend to stop letting people host files on Discord, as in linking to a file outside of Discord itself. News of this broke months ago and people noticed links having new junk text in them, but supposedly that extra text is part of the new system. It's likely more than images at this point, I'd wager people linked their fan-games' ZIP/RAR files or assets they made with a Discord attachment.

Ok it turns out these links will last for a limited time only. So, if this image of a train suddenly vanishes, that's why.
Y'all might have to use sites like imgur (or whatever your preferred method of image hosting is) for photos and Google Drive (or OneDrive, Dropbox, etc) for game downloads.
