The 2024 solar eclipse - VinnyVideo - 04-11-2024 Did any of y'all get to see the solar eclipse on Monday, April 8? Solar eclipses happen pretty often in the world, but it's a rare treat for them to be visible in your neck of the woods. This particular eclipse was visible in a large chunk of the United States, Canada, and Mexico, which is quite a rarity. I took a little trip to get a better view of the eclipse - most of Florida saw about 65% coverage of the eclipse, while I got to see more like 85%. It wasn't quite totality, but it was still really cool. I got to see a partial eclipse in October as well. Did anyone else get to see this year's eclipse? RE: The 2024 solar eclipse - littlelum - 04-11-2024 I wasn't aware there was going to be an eclipse until someone asked me about it an hour after it happened. It wouldn't have made much of a difference anyways since it was cloudy that day. RE: The 2024 solar eclipse - Hyper - 07-01-2024 Very late post (since I rarely visit here) but I was able to witness it because I live in North Texas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5BwGfyV3eE Camera is difficult to capture how surreal it was but it feels out of the world. I tried to replicate of what I saw using Macromedia Fireworks 8: ![]() Also a month later I saw auroras in northern Oklahoma: Twitter: https://vxtwitter.com/HyperDragonair/status/1789209254810837225/ RE: The 2024 solar eclipse - Q-Nova - 07-20-2024 Somewhat late reply, but that's really cool, @Hyper! The video clip is pretty neat, even if it's not 100% accurate to what you saw in real life (though the visualization is cool), and wow, you saw auroras!? That's incredible, they look so beautiful! ![]() RE: The 2024 solar eclipse - VinnyVideo - 07-20-2024 @Hyper Yeah, that was really neat! Nice work. Some people in my area got a decent glimpse of the aurorae, but there wasn't much to see at my house. I know some people got an impressive view in south Florida and even Mexico. |
