The Ultimate GameMaker Knowledge Quiz - Mors - 01-25-2025

HELLO DEAR MFGG MEMBERS

TODAY I prepared you a quiz with 60 questions covering everything from basic GML syntax to deep GameMaker lore (yes, we're going there) to determine IF you're a true GameMaker expert, or a just a poser loser. Soveryhappy Special thanks to DJ Coco for some of the questions.

What does this have to do with MFGG you might ask? Nothing! I just felt like it'd be fun. I might make one about Mario fangames in general if I see enough interest (and get enough motivation) though, since I already have this as a base.

Post your scores here. With screenshots, so we all know it's legit.

EDIT: Updated it so it now has 60 questions, and I fixed one question that was slightly wrong (made a typo).

It went pretty okay for the fact that I hadn't used GameMaker in forever, and hardly ever touched GMS2.

Were two extra questions added to make it 60? Can I retake it since I got the 58 question version?

Yeah, Mors patched it to fix a wrong answer and evened out the amount of questions while he was at it.

That was fun! I never used GameMaker Studio 2 and for earlier versions I feel that I barely scratched the surface on what they can really do (I didn't use the return function until Go! Go! Gooble!!), so my score isn't too surprising. I remember taking a similar quiz from DJ Coco several years ago and not doing too well there, I think I was actually better with the current quiz.

A quiz for Mario fangames would be interesting. VinnyVideo did a quiz for MFGG in general last year, which included some questions about fangames, but I wouldn't mind having to answer more fangame-related questions!
