Work life - Mariotroid - 01-03-2018

At work today, a friend told me she was leaving. I was surprised, sure but she told me she prefers the Second job, other job she works. It' a call centre. She said she can read while she works. This sounds appealing to me, even more appealing is that she said when I asked that people can draw there too. I really want to work a job I can practice my craft. It would be sweet. My girlfriend doesn' approve cause she's dumb but whatever.

Should I work there? Or continue working at wal mart? I don't know. By the way, where do you all work? Does the place provide you with a place you can work on projects? I really want a job i can draw at. Oh wells ill see what i can do.

Jobs with a lot of "downtime" are nice in some ways, since you might have time to do other things. On the other hand, jobs like that usually don't pay a lot, and sometimes it's useful to have experience working in a fast-paced environment.

Right now I have a job tutoring people, mostly IT students, at a nearby college. It's a pleasant and rewarding job, but it doesn't pay a lot. Ironically, since I'm paid hourly, I get paid less if I do a good job! It's not a very fast-paced job, and sometimes I have time to work on other stuff if I'm waiting for someone.

I'm hoping to begin a full-time gig within the next month or so.

I think you should keep your Walmart Job. Wink

Perhaps look into what the "call center" does. I don't know if all call centers are the same, but I had a friend that worked at one once. Basically, they were telemarketers. Her job was to call people and sell them things. That's a job that some people just can't do. Sometimes you call asking for dead people. No matter what, you're asking people for money. Your job is to basically say whatever it takes for them to empty their wallet to your company.

I worked at a grocery store once. It sucks, the pay sucks, but it is steady and involves little-to-no begging dead people for money. Do whatever it best for you, but do make sure that the call center is doing something that you're comfortable with doing.
