Polyroll! Insipired by early 90s PC platformers! - Spicy Gyro Games - 01-08-2018

Polyroll is a Sonic/Mario-ish platformer inspired by Master System Sonic games as well as early 90s PC platformers seen on dos and Amiga computers.
It was originally released as an ios game in 2012 but is now getting a long awaited PC port, along with A LOT of tweaks and polish. We're aiming to have this one out in May October.

This is the Marble Museum stage that I'm currently in the midst of sprucing up.

Looks cool. I like how the environment is original and not just "grassland".

Don't worry, we've got that too! :P

I'm getting pretty heavy Jazz Jackrabbit vibes from this. Looks neat.

This looks seriously great, I love the graphical style you have going on here. Keep it up!

Yes, I am doing a terrible job of updating this. So much work to do!! Anywhoo, I'm re-polishing stuff I've already polished because why not? I've added some golden flourishes to the Parcheesi stage.

You can also see I've updated the gem counter. The old numbers were boring, and this makes more sense, being that the gems stack up towards the hearts, and collecting 10 gives you another heart and resets the gem counter to 0.

The 1999 aesthetic on your booth made me smile! I'll go check it out.

I played through the one-world demo, and I enjoyed it. It kind of feels like a cross between the classic Sonic games and Mario platformers - which isn't a bad thing. You get Sonic-like action, the more deliberate pace of Mario, and your own characters and settings.

The Heart Palace was a nice little challenge for World 1 - it was challenging but not outrageously so. I had about a split second left on the clock when I reached the goal.

Be sure to let us know when the final version is complete!

I played the demo, is really good, I like how you used the mario gameplay and the sonic gameplay to make a great level design with it, I like the way you defeat the boss (and reminds me a bit of a boss of Sonic Triple Trouble) it has a nice difficult, a bit easy, but that's perfect for me.
Also I liked the challenge, it was a bit challenging to me and I did it in the third try. Good luck with the game, I really want to see the complete version of it.  Big Grin
