Your preferred SMB2 character - VinnyVideo - 04-27-2026
I tend to use Luigi the most, though I prefer Peach's delayed descent over Luigi's high jumps in certain levels. I often use Mario when digging in the desert. Poor Toad doesn't get a lot of use, but I might use him in 2-1 or 2-2 just so he'll get a chance to play.

When I played SMB2 I exchanged the characters per level (Mario -> Luigi -> Toad -> Peach). There were 20 levels, so each character was used 5 times.
With this in mind, I preferred playing as Luigi because I liked the high jumping.

i mainly played as luigi when it comes to SMB2, but i also pick toad aswell due to his fast speed.

I usually end up switching between Peach and Luigi depending on the stage. Peach makes a lot of platforming sections way safer, but Luigi’s jump feels more fun once you get used to the slippery movement.
