We need a food chat. - The Shadow - 07-12-2026

Granted, so many other places also need a food chat. my option for sharing what culinary options I come up with (few as they may be) is to post them in the art chat. THAT particular entry to come once I'm done posting this.
Food is very much the foundation of many things, and while what I have to submit might not exactly be Mario themed, it does open the doors for entries that are.

Food, drink, and Alcohol when applicable.

First things first... I am all in favor of seeing more Nite recipes! I might even cook one up and try it myself.

I have mixed feelings about splitting the General Chat into more forums. For a community that's not getting thousands of posts per day, I'm inclined to prefer a more streamlined layout.

How do other people feel - would splitting the GC into more forums (food, media sharing, etc.) encourage you to post more or make it easier for you to find things?

Actually, you make a very valid point. I hadn't considered the active level of traffic, and how this would complicate the layout.
How about just augmenting the description of the art chat instead, so that it includes culinary arts (recipes for food and drink)? it was my whole reason for dropping the mudbug thread there to begin with despite the lack thereof in the current forum description.

The idea of splitting General Chat into other forums for better organization is a good one. It could even make things like tutorials easier to find. The only potential problem I see is that if there isn't some sort of general forum left over, new users registering at MFGG might feel overwhelmed. They wouldn't know where to post if there wasn't a general space where they could post safely without making mistakes, you know? It’s like going to McDonald’s one day and suddenly finding the yellow trash bin split up into separate bins for plastic cups, plastic plates, recycled plastic cups... if there are too many forums, it can confuse newcomers.I don't have professional experience in this area, of course, but I do have a bit of common sense.
