In Regards to the Recent Forum Layout Changes - NowhereMan - 10-16-2026

Seems to have changed a month ago, a couple months ago, but when I visit the forum, it doesn't show the user who "last" posted and what-not making it more difficult to distinguish if the forums have even been recently updated *or posted in.

What was the reason for taking that off? Was there a reason?

Hmm, I'm not quite sure what you mean. Could you share a screenshot or a link to an example of an affected page? What skin are you using, and are you on desktop or mobile?

I can only think of a couple of things I've tweaked lately. The default skin is currently BooBerry because it's October. Also, I adjusted a couple of template files that contained old logic that was designed for much older versions of MyBB.

I am using the default layout. I think I checked the other layouts, too, and it was the same thing. But anyway, on my screen(s) the forum is essentially just not showing "last posted", so I don't know when there was a reply, etc. Pretty easy for me to go to the main forum page and check everyday or so to see if there were new messages, but not so much anymore. I realize that this forces us to open up the "General Chat" to see if there were new messages but it also completely disregards if there is new messages or not, making me more likely to not post at all. Or check forums. For example I am less likely now to check the "Arts Board" and other boards because of this. Or check as frequently as I did. Checking everyday now is every couple days to once a week, and so on.

Also I deleted everything off my laptop after an incident where I lost thousands and thousands of files of work.

So I haven't been on Discord in awhile, I noticed it isn't on the main page (MFGG.net) anymore. Is there a reason for that?

Oh man, I didn't even notice that.

Understandably, the "mushroom" icon or the "star" icon (default layout) is colored and bright when there is a new post, it is black and white (or grey) when there are no new posts. However, it is still easier for me to use the forums efficiently with the "last post" info still attached.

Currently, the CSS has a @media query that hides some of the details on the index page if the screen/browser window is under 1,280 pixels wide. I *think* this applies to all skins, though I wouldn't faint if some skins were different. Should we adjust the way this CSS works? There might be room for improvement. I'm not sure.

The Discord link occasionally disappears temporarily. Maybe it disappeared because a naughty thief stole it and sold it off at a pawn shop or something. Maybe it took a vacation to Italy or Cancun and its flight got delayed. Maybe someone was concerned about Discord's latest changes and decided to protest in a very indirect way. Or maybe a madman wanted to run some kind of test to see if adding or hiding the Discord link would have any effect on new users joining on the Discord, the forums, or both.
