I think it would be a bit of a nice time-saver if one can just click on a button that marks all forums as read instead of going to each forum and marking them as read one by one, if they aren't interested in checking out the new posts.

The functionality should be there, there just isn't a button for it due to the theme

where postkey is some kind of hash

I have added a button to the navbar up the top that marks all posts as read.
