...if we wanted SMB1 with a save feature, we'd just emulate it... and SMBDX really is just a portable SMB1 with a save feature and some bonus stuff. Also for the record, 73 megabytes for a demo with eight levels is a bit much. You really need to research how to significantly reduce the file size. RE: Super Mario Bros Deluxe Redux - YoshisIsland3 - 06-02-2018 I agree with Pedigree. To me, the movement controls to me are a bit close but nowhere near to the original physics or similar. The map screen is nowhere close to SMBDX as Pedigree said, maps from the Mario games are suppose to have some geographical features, (hills, mountains, rivers, valleys, plateaus, steppes, deltas,etc), the maps lack any geographical feature and the way to navigate on the map just looks very awkward, I suggest you revamp the map by adding said features instead of looking bland, and the way to navigate on the World map, which you could replace with the SMB3 world map system or something similar. Also the doors are out of place on the map, replace them with pipes. Take a look again at SMB3, SMW, and SMBDX's world map to get a better idea. One neat feature is that I was able to continue after failing a world, which is good. Another minor problem is that you are able to fall off and die in the lobby at the beginning of the game, the lobby is also in need of a redesign, maybe Peach's castle or something? GLITCHES: There is also a glitch with the red Koopas at near end of 2-2, which makes them stop moving. Also there is a checkpoint glitch on 2-3, which if I fall in one of the holes, a glitch occurs, where when Mario dies, he will respawn in the pit again. Then there is 2-2 which has a long green strip near the flagpole. At least you tried, but this game has some problems that it needs addressing. |
