consider this!
On our postbit you should add a mario icon x number of 1ups we've received total. Hopefully thank system keeps track of this number.
Put it above coins for maximum mario aesthetic! Don't let me down MFGG!
Not expecting them to do anything except be a nice number to make you feel good, like postcount.

It wouldn't be too different a statistic from reputation on sites like VGR, I'm not opposed to it.

ok GENIUS idea make the lives counter just loop at 255 like a real old-timey video game. Just do 1ups received mod 256 and its the perfect compliment to coins.
It also no longer lets you stroke your e-dick because the number is not actually accurate.
