I finally beat the final boss in Wind Waker today! It took me long enough - the original game came out in 2003, and I started the save file back in 2013.

Back in early 2014, I stopped playing for a while (OK, more like five years) when I got stuck in the Triforce Maps collection quest. I was trying to finish the game without touching a guide, but there were a couple of maps that proved to be finicky.

Wind Waker isn't a perfect game - most notably, the sailing in the original version can be a bit slow and tedious after a while. However, Wind Waker was an awesome experience overall, and I'm glad I finally played through it.

I played it just a bit on the Wii U, I was expecting a bland experiencie with repetitive gameplay but it's a quite neat, not in my top 10 list but is enjoyable for sure.

It's one of my favorite Zelda games for sure, and probably my favorite 3D Zelda game. It's a lot of fun, and I love the pirate theme and the fun characters. The only thing I didn't enjoy about it was the lack of depth in the sea exploration, but given the limitations of the GC it makes sense.

it has some of my favorite dungeons and my favorite combat engine in the whole series, and sailing is great. i love the open approach they took to area design. maybe they were trying to show off what the gamecube was capable of? i don't really give a f*** about that but it's cool having huge puzzle rooms with lots of s*** in them. the contextual dodging is really exciting and fun to use and i love getting to steal weapons even though it only happens like twice. using loud music notes as battle sound effects is genius too, they need to keep doing that. some of my favorite experiences in zelda are finding the smaller puzzle islands and just wandering around, like i've reached a place no one's been to and i get to chart it out
but god i hate the triforce pieces

I actually just finished Wind Waker HD for my second time just a couple weeks ago, which will have made it my 5th or 6th time through WW in general. A fantastic Zelda game which I've come to appreciate more as I've grown older. Wind Waker was my second Zelda game, after OoT. The fast sail and the lower number of maps to find and get deciphered definitely add to the game's quality; I'd recommend the HD version to anyone who hasn't played or wants to revisit the game.

Wind Waker is a great game (especially Wind Waker HD with the Swift Sail and the various QoL improvements), but I feel it's the weakest 3D Zelda in terms of content, overworld design and dungeons.

I remember when I was young, I used to go to Kmart every weekend to play the demo over and over (As well as the Pokemon GBA game demos).
It was the first Zelda game I actually owned, played Link to the Past and Ocarina before this one tho... As well as the Nintendo (NES) ones.
The map was big and felt empty at times but it was relaxing and made every encounter memorable, it also felt more of the same zelda formula but different at the same time.
I enjoyed Twilight Princess more but kept coming back for some reason, hoping they do another remastered/remake for the switch. Wind Waker and the go would be neat.
