This YouTube channel includes restorations of just about all of the songs from the original three DKC games for the Super NES.

These games include some of the most memorable video game soundtracks out there, but the original samples suffered a significant loss in quality - they had to be compressed to fit within the limits of the Super NES. This musician tracked down the original samples that these songs used and made them sound quite a bit smoother.

It's good stuff. Very good stuff. Go check it out.

You could honestly do this with a bunch of SNES games, if you were motivated enough. It was pretty common for SNES games to just take the samples from whatever keyboard or somesuch the composer was using. For example, because of this, Seinfeld and Mega Man X use the exact same slap bass sample.
